Do you think that the girls will wear these new costumes in the World Championship? It seems pretty obvious to me that Eteri is trying to make them seem more grown up and Sasha more feminine...
no, Anna and Aliona's programs are old ones from their junior days. they have been using them as show programs for a while. i wouldn't doubt Aliona's new dress was needed due to outgrowing her old one from 2 seasons ago.
as far as Sasha, i'm not sure if this program is a new SP or just a show program, but it doesn't match her. i have been hoping they will give her something similar to big spender- she does very well and goes into character really nicely with that style of music.
... and Kamila, Sofia, Adelya???Btw, where was Alina? I thought she‘d close the show but she didn‘t ? Is she still with Art on Ice?

That's the question of all questions...Art on Ice has long finished so no real reason for her not to be a part of it...Kamila and the other young girls are probably busy preparing for Junior Worlds.

I doubt it for Aliona because her program is two years old. It‘s her SP from two seasons ago. As for Sasha, I‘m a bit confused. I‘ve never seen this program from her. If anyone has, please enlighten me. It would be totally weird to debut a completely new SP at the Worlds and way too risky. I can‘t imagine Eteri doing that.
I can understand why they might want to make Sasha seem more “feminine“ but imo, she doesn‘t need that. Honestly, it seems pretty weird to me. She is a girl, just because she doesn‘t have the standard princess-y skating and lands quads doesn‘t mean she skates like a dude? I mean.. what??
That program just doesn‘t fit her. It‘s the effort to try and make Sasha something she isn‘t to earn PCS. Now, fact is, she isn‘t the most graceful skater and she‘s just not musical. You could see it in the final group number. Unfortunately, she was right in the spotlight and it was obvious how out of sync she was compared to everyone else... Trying to put her in what seems like a more ”traditionally female“ dress and give her some beautiful but dull music doesn‘t change anything, on the contrary, it takes away her power. Give her something she can entertain the audience with. Something sassy, with fun. She has power, she has a spark. She probably won‘t ever be a PCS skater like Anna or Aliona, who seem to naturally feel and respond to the music. But she doesn‘t need to be. Just play to her strengths and don‘t take away what makes her her.
Btw, where was Alina? I thought she‘d close the show but she didn‘t ? Is she still with Art on Ice?
I liked what I just saw! And do not you think that you often see only what you want or used to see?

I think this program works great for her. It showcases that she has grown and has become a lovely young lady with elegance, musicality, flexibility... I am so sick and tired of all the comments about Sasha being "quads only" that I am glad we can see her in different light (except for the cantilever, which isn't very ladylike) Don't get me wrong, I love the tiny monster who came to "tear them all to pieces", as her brother said, the dragon queen with her Drakharys, but she is growing and her programs will inevitably change too.
Well, I disagree about the elegance and musicality part. But her being not elegant and musical doesn‘t mean she‘s about quads only. There‘s a different kind of performance than just being “elegant“ and “musical“, isn‘t there? Sasha has a certain charm, she‘s powerful and her energy makes people want to watch her. She doesn‘t always have to be portrayed as a “fighter“ or skate to gimmick-y music. But why not give her something modern, like her gala exhibition? I think modern songs could fit her. And people obviously loved her skating to Sia, her gala performance went viral.
I think this program is a way to try and earn her PCS but unfortunately it just highlights what her strengths definitely aren‘t. But she can improve on her PCS. Her skating skills aren‘t too shabby when she‘s not trying to land a million quads (I think, basic skating skills only, she’s better than Anna, for example) and something like “performance“ and “composition“ doesn‘t require elegance or musicality. She certainly can be a good performer and if she gets a well-choreographed SP, her marks there shouldn‘t be too bad either. So, I feel like instead of trying to make her something she isn‘t, they could give her something she loves and improve the overall quality of her skating. That would make people enjoy her and...well, judges are just people too, after all.

I only tuned in for the second half, so I didn‘t know they weren‘t there either. Sofia and Adelia were just competing yesterday or so, weren‘t they? No idea about Kamila, since Maiia and Dasha were here. Probably she‘s preparing her quads for Junior Worlds.
You mean that in my mind I have put Sasha in the category “not musical, not PCS skater“? Hm. Maybe. I sincerely do not know.
But that doesn‘t mean I can‘t enjoy her skating, does it? I love her gala, for example. She fell twice at Euros but it was my favorite out of the 3A. I regularly watch her Skate Canada performance and am hoping she could get a program like that. I liked her FS too, even with the falls. I just think that she has strengths that make her unique and those should be brought out in her programs! She‘s powerful, she has a spark and she can entertain an audience really well. That‘s just as valid a way of performing as skating elegantly and beautifully like Aliona and Anna do. I just want to say that I really love Sasha, this is not a slight against her. Her personality is amazing. And I feel like she has something to show with her skating, too, not just quads and I just wish they found the right approach in her competitive programs.

I can understand her (or her team) wanting to try something new, given that she lags behind on PCS compared with the top women. Maybe the judges will find a program like this more palatable.

Strange... Well, "Team Tutberidize" could have filled the slots themselves but it was a joint show with "Team Mozer". They probably couldn't fit everybody

Well, I sincerely doubt that they didn‘t have space for Alina, who‘s the Olympic Champ and just the star of the Tutberidze Team or Kamila, who‘s the leading junior lady. My guess is they were busy otherwise. Alina probably preparing for another show or some other activity and Kamila training for JWC.
