2019-20 Russian Ladies' Figure Skating

Do not overestimate it. At this age level this says only a little. Many today's top skaters were somewhere in the middle of the starting field at the age of cca 10-12. Yes, Titova has defeated Rubtsova (which caused that of four titles at the russian novice championships Eteri's team won "only" three, shame [emoji3]), but how this will keep in time? E.g. Veronika Zhilina was much less consistent a year ago when she came to Eteri than she is now and if you compare her with Titova (who is only half year younger) it's a big difference. I don't say Titova can't be a top skater under Plushenko, but I won't call that as somehow significant omen about how strong his school is.
Well but I heard I do not know it for sure but in another pat in the forum it was said that veronica is also changing to plushenko

I've never seen Eteri pointing to financial stuff, it's really telling sentence in my opinion.

To be honest I think a few things coincided. That’s just my wild guess and interpretation of everyone’s words, including Layshev, who hinted on “unethical” things in FS and talked about offers from other coaches.
I have a feeling when she’s talking about more favorable conditions, it’s about her principles she couldn’t let go off to make Sasha and Rozanov stay.
I think as frustration of Sasha and her parents grew, they gave some sort of ultimatum, that either Eteri takes on more time with Sasha to make Sasha more consistent, or they would take up another offer. Same with Rozanov, he sure wanted more responsibility and be more on the forefront of the team. Then came Plushenko with very good offers to both of them. Looks to me like Eteri was stubborn and perhaps thought that they wouldn’t leave, and now we’re in this situation. :-/
Just my thoughts.

That is your opinion Plushenko was/is/will be a superstar of skating with many fans. The famous people can be criticised all the time. If he doesn't do anything he doesn't make mistake, the people the media doesn't make gossips and fake news on him. Everybody likes him! This is the famous people's destiny.

Finally I'm sure that would be better for Nastya if she didn't leave the Academy. That was a big mistake of her and parents.

Oh, c'mon, this is not an argument, this is worshipping. Even if I have a reputation of a big fan of Eteri, I wouldn't ever support my opinions using statements like this. I don't care whether Plushenko is a celebrity or not, I consider his public presentation during last two years awful no matter how great his previous success was. Also, the fact he was great skater doesn't make him a great coach, esp. when it comes to personal attitude to his students.

None of the kind, one 'problem' is off Tutberidze and her team's hands. More time and effort to spend on the remaining Aces, perhaps an incentive for Alina to return, and an opening for a prospective skater to enter the top group? The leaving of Trusova will hardly have a detrimental effect on the group. Three is a crowd, and with having so many ace cards in play, a drop of one seemed inevitable.

I think you are being unnecessarily harsh on Trusova. Yesterday you loved her, today its "good riddance."

out of curiosity,do you know Russian?

Maybe you don't understand me. If he doesn't do anything then everybody would like him. I can read Russian, and I know what do you wanted to say. You know the Russian fs forums is only a little part of the population. Plushenko was the most popular athlete ( not only skater) in Russia 3 or 4 times. A figure skater!!! In 2014 he beat Lipnitskaya in popularity according to the biggest Russian public opinion researcher. Ha! And if you watch his official site there are cca 38 millions visitors or more since 2009. Yes, many Russian hate his wife and thus he also lost fans because of Rudkovskaya. Plus they are distastefully rich they don't hide it, and that is not simpatethic in Russia.

When ice becomes available again, when domestic competitive season starts again, when international competitive season starts again, all of this is still very uncertain well into 2020. Next year's World Championships are the goal to aim for, when getting your skaters ready.

Trusova in the best shape can land 4 quads,at least.

Who is going to beat her with 4 Quads? Valieva? probably, but not next Season. Kostarnaya? No. Shcherbakova? Mmmm...Maybe but that is a very long shot. Zagitova? mmaybe with huge PCS boosts and 2 quad Lz but that is also a very long shot.

Lets face it, Trusova, if she does fine at Angels, prospects of Eteri's student's dominance detoriates and Eteri, I am sure, Doesn't want that.

I think wasn't it around the time Sasha would have been in Egypt with her parents?

Looks like it.

"Alexandra Trusova decided to leave the group of Eteri Tutberidze after the abolition of the 2020 World Cup because of the coronavirus. After the tournament was canceled, Alexandra and her family went on vacation to Egypt, while the other skaters of the Tutberidze group continued to train. When the regime of self-isolation was introduced in the country, the Tutberidze group switched to online training. Business Online reports that Trusova has never taken part in them. Two weeks ago, Alexandra informed Tutberidze about leaving. The coach, who is now reportedly in the United States with her daughter, did not try to dissuade the athlete. According to the publication, Trusova twice made attempts to leave Tutberidze twice during the season, once to a foreign specialist, and the second to a Russian one, but Tutberidze managed to dissuade her from moving every time."

Earlier this year to Plushenko:
"Your periodic attempts to buy, in the literal sense of the word, ready-made athletes, only interfere with our professional work. You did not manage to lure Alina."
I didn't express myself precisely enough.
Never has Eteri pointed to financial stuff prevailing her coaching abilities and reputation.

I am not going to continue this discussion, not I am trying to prove anything, but Plushenko is becoming less and less liked basically every passing day(and sochi didn't do him any favors),at least in Russia (but he doesn't seem to be worried about it) and for a reason. His wife is already one of the most disliked person in the russian celebrity circles, and that is very tough accomplishment considering the competition

LOL, no, I was just following up on my other postings. Some from one aspect of the case, some from another. It is a matter of emotional involvement, which is sometimes a bit too much upfront.

In the end, a spread of talent is good for the sport.

Usually it's good but we have examples when it's not.

So Sasha was already ready to leave twice before? I would be interested in knowing who the foreign coach would have been? There aren't that many that would interest Sasha or her family or am I wrong?

Do not expect Aleksandra herself approaching any foreign coaches with such pleas. Some adult accompanying her, and in the case of foreign coaches, in reasonable command over the language (I suppose English) to do the dealings. Which might have been done in some secrecy, so not at the competition venue, but at the banquet, some other informal occasion where one can have a private talk and look at some documents. I assume her dad, being a businessman, will have been the requesting party.

Rozanov's departure makes me slightly worried about Kostornaya. She praised him in the past for the improvements made on the triple axel.
