Is Alexei Urmanov still coaching?
The thing with those high and to some extent unreal expectations is the direct result from Pluschenko's own PR work. He's claiming to have the best figure skating school, the best conditions, the best blabla for real stars like Sasha. Well, we expect then for him to fulfil those promises. That's the problem with people who speak too much before showing any results..
Question? All public facilities like skating rinks are closed right now in Russia? Does this apply to privately owned gyms/rinks? I’m assuming plushenko’s is private? I remember reading that the rhythmic gymnastics team had planned to resume training. Not saying this motivated her decision, but does Sasha have a current advantage to resume training immediately?
That is true. That is the best school best condition in Moscow. There are everything in same place. Ballet room, gym, medical room, etc. Even Gleichengauz mentioned it that they all know Plushenko's great conditions, right? One thing is missing...the time. He opened the academy in 2017.

What would you expect from her?
That statement from VK account (verified?) presuming to be Aleksandra was denied by Mr Trusov. That fake statement didn't sound bad at all.
All young athletes the stature of Aleksandra, Anna, Alyona need a professional PR agent, or at least a sensible parent moderating their public social media, proof reading anything, checking the DM's for filth. No young adolescent needs the strain of having to deal with what surely must be coming Aleksandra's way for a couple of days now.
When ice reopens and the skaters are out again competing, the focus will shift and excitement will take over once again.
The sooner the better from my part![]()
So far, the majority of the 'turncoats' are the ones that hated Sasha's guts, called her a 'robot', blamed her for 'ruining ladies figure skating', etc - as soon as Sasha switched to Plyushenko, she suddenly became the 'brightest star of the Russian fs scene' to these folks![]()
Sergei Rozanov now has his Fan Fest if you guys want to check it out!!![]()
:luv17:
Well I think loosing Kostyleva and Zhilina are bigger blows to Eteri's team than loosing Trusova. Just staying. I could be kind of expected that 3 best skaters in the world couldn't stay in one team. And please not Petrosyan, too. I really hope she will stay with Eteri...Wonder whether Mrs Kostyleva and Rozanov make up again.
Still...if you disliked the skater before, but like her now, that's progress.
If you liked her before but dislike her now, that's going backward.
Best would be to like her then and to like her still.
I would say that about any skater.

The same happens with the fans who only defended her when she was in the team and now are saying she's a problem soooo...![]()
to be the best school includes to offer the best teaching..
EDIT: I actually don't want to be starting any discussions with you because I know you are a hardcore fan and I don't want to upset you. Even as I said, I'm more sceptical on the way Plushy tried to turn the media against Eteri (for whatever of reason..oh, well some of us get the reason), than for Sasha and Rozanov moving to him. He has a new building, some stuff you just enlisted, which btw Khrustalny rink also has... The only question mark is how the things will work out but for that we'll see. Still, he has some advantage in comparison to Brian Orser, for example, when he took Medvedeva, because unlike her Sasha is still in her prime time, she's still young and healthy and might manage to overcome the difficulties that come with the change.

I know you said “the majority”, but, in my case, I wasn’t a fan of Sasha’s programs and skating skills / lack of musicality, but I always admired her and liked her as a person. I think she made huge contributions to the sport. I also think her change to Pluschenko might be positive, although I can’t say it for sure, only time will tell. I’m also not the biggest fan of Eteri’s, but I think she’s a great coach, who might not be able to manage having so many talented girls in the same team competing against each other. I’m not the biggest fan of Pluschenko’s either, but I think it might help Sasha (not necessarily Pluschenko himself, but the structure he’ll offer Sasha and Rozanov’s work). Will Sasha become the number 1 lady in the world? I don’t know. Will her career end? I also don’t know, but I think this is less probable. Let’s wait and see instead of judging everything beforehand. Eteri has made mistakes when students left her, Pluschenko has made mistakes when students left him. Pluschenko is very new in the coaching world, let’s give the guy a chance. And let’s give Sasha a chance.

Because in the US, many places are opening up again (whether this is right or wrong) if you can limit the amount of people. Like keep the total under 10 and maintain 6 feet apart. I’d imagine that this would be harder to do for a public rink as how do you decide who is allowed. But a private rink might be able to give access to a few priority skaters. The Moscow mayor's order that all sports facilities remain closed till May 31 applies to Plyushchenko's too. Why run the risk of infection in private enterprises? Or an infraction of government orders by providing 'secret ice'?
Yevgeniy Viktorovich himself said that there are acquaintances of the family infected. Maintaining self isolation and quarantine, all people leading society have an exemplary role here.
The infection rate is still rising, the spread hasn't been contained. New sources of infection are discovered all over Russia daily, and wether the health system is coping and capable of treating each and everybody? I don't know.
FFKKR's doctor is fighting in the frontline at some army hospital, if Alyona Kostornaya were already a third year medical student, she'd called up to serve too.
Will Putin fall for circes et panem to appease the populace?
Regarding the panem part, any government has huge problems in keeping the economy from collapsing, preventing mass employment, families falling into poverty, preventing marital and child abuse, not to mention mass social unrest, perhaps civil uprising even.
Circes can be arranged easily by the athletes under state command, but who would risk his life, apart from well paid professional soccer players and the like? Would a parent want to part from their child for him/her to have training in some remote, isolated, presumed safe training base for months? Before even letting people back into stadium, like some neighbouring countries have no problem with?
