Fall 2019: Alena is entered in a jr nationals qualifying event, they must've thought she was ready to compete
November 2019, a week before the event: Alena withdraws
December 2019: Alena announces that she has already begun off ice training and finally received the correct diagnosis for a still unspecified injury, and says that off ice training has so far been pain free! Yay!
Late December 2019: Alena is on back on ice!
Late January 2020: Alena retires, saying that it is sadly too painful for her to perform jumps.

To me it seems that somewhere in the month of JAnuary they tried jumps, and it became evident that after a long treatment, she was not going to be able to jump again. On her wiki it says back injury, which is often long lasting and hampering to ability in sports but who knows, for the time that Team Tutberidze is relevant it will probably remain a secret. Perhaps Alena will one day write her own memoir of her experience. The junior dance field is quite deep, and many who attempt to switch from singles to dance are unsuccessful but let's hope that it will be different for Alena.

There were rumors that Team Panova was incapable of teaching quads, another rink mom from the Leopards said that there was no such knowledge of an injury to ALena in 2018. But Ksenia Sinitsyna got a mini documentary on the channel where she lands 3A<, and Anastasia Kostyuk (what happened to her? such a lovely skater) also had triples that looked like they had room for another rotation.

In the story of Kanysheva there is some omission of detail and PR no doubt but for now, details remain unclear

Some minor corrections:
Kanysheva did not compete at junior worlds. At january 2019 she withdrew from the "Kudriavtsev Prize" competition after a short program. At the russian junior nationals she finished 11th and therefore didn't qualify for junior worlds, which probably caused her disappointment above all else. We don't know how much this could be credited to her injury, but the previous comptition she didn't finish was just a week before, so it can be expected she felt some problems already. Shortly after she finished 2nd at Winter Children of Asia Internatinal Sports Games, which unfortunately turned into her very last competition she took part in singles.

As for 3A/quads in Snow Leopards, in this team there is nobody who could work with the harness, which makes training 3+ rotation jumps very difficult.

I was surprised when I accidentally found out today that Mishin’s team is part of CSKA’s structure http://cska.ru/person/59. Why didn’t Lisa get the club’s support in a dispute with Medvedeva at the Russian Cup final in 2019 from Tarasova and Co? How everything is confused in the FS of Russia.

Hi Guys

Since this is related to one of your Russian ladies I thought I'd ask here.

Why is Kamila so fast on ice? Like how does she get the speed? Is it like running where Usain Bolt is just a fast runner compared to others?

I just watched her JGPF FS and she's so fast! I always think I have a dodgy clip that's been sped up even though I don't and Ted Barton has referenced her speed many times!

Anyways I am super curious! What makes someone fast or slow?

Just clarify: your opponent expressed some of his thoughts and brought facts. You did not bother to refute his reasoning and did not provide your counterarguments. , but simply hypertrophied everything that was said to them and led it to absurdity. And now you resent your own absurd assumption?

Sorry for being skeptical but the impression i have about all of this is that at this point Eteri has such an influence on the federation and media

That is not a fact; and doesn't deserve any counterargument.

Sorry for being skeptical but the impression i have about all of this is that at this point Eteri has such an influence on the federation and media because of the status they gained over the years, you can't freely call her out, and say that they forced you to switch or retire, i bet they are so smart, it's all written in the contract these skaters sign before joining, like an NDA.

Basically those who do criticize the team, are either those skaters who were immediately trashed, so their competitive career is done already, but russian media and supporters are very smart at downplaying everything, making it seem like that skater is just jealous. (which also could be true, but you can't just dismiss the whole thing just because it's not all rainbows and unicorns)

Here in a western country, after an interview like the one Polina Shubodreova did, which had several big claims against the team, there would be immediately investigations against the coaching club, in Russia it always go the opposite, defend the coach, trash the skater for speaking up which i think is unfortunate.

Anastasia Shabotova said that that all Tutberidze students take pills to get consistency, basically entire Russia bashed her, scores at following competitions started to drop significantly and now she competes for Ukraine. Before that comment her career was mostly on par with Anna Frolova btw (who got 2 events in juniors), after she was pulled out of the junior team and forced to switch country in order to compete at international events. Very unfair situation there, yes it could have been just a mistake, but an apology was enough, you can't destroy her career immediately after.

Like i said for Sambo70 skaters i bet it's behind some sort of NDA, though probably put in a shady unfair way since you can praise the team but not criticize it (if it is a real NDA you shouldn't be able to talk about it at all, positive nor negative), or maybe it's just threats and fear put on the athlete.

It's curious that the recent exodus happened while Tutberidze was not in Russia.

It`s facts
What you are talking about is his opinion on these facts.

To me, it all looks like: We are not saying that Eteri is a saint or an angel, but we will not allow anyone to doubt that she is a saint.

Why? You know why. TAT.

Being very small helps a lot as does having gifts from the Gods for figure skating.

About this whole Plushenko war, is there any reason to assume that he is a bad coach? Like actual proof. I think it's just too early in his coaching career to even find out.
Or is the reason why people don't like him the fact that they don't like his personality and antics? I personally also can't stand him (that video of his Sochi FS makes me cringe everytime) but there are many subjectively unlikable figures in the sports world and it's totally unrelated to their level of success. Actually, many of the greatest achievers are... "eccentric" to say it nicely.

Who mentioned Plushenko in today's Clash Episode 3924 till now?

Kamila is extremely fast!! I would say that she is so fast because she has good skating skills and she pushes on the crossovers that she is allowed to do. Skating skills are a major factor because she knows how to bend her knee or press a certain edge in order to get speed. Not many skaters can do this. An example off of the top of my head that I can think of is Aliona Kostornaya, other than I don’t know about any other ladies who do this. Also, when she steps forward after turning backwards Kamila pushes when she steps to get more speed. Kamila doesn’t take very many cross overs but when she does, she is able to generate a lot of speed. Kamila bends her knees and pushes on the cross over to generate more power. Kamila also has good posture on them which also helps with her speed. Some skaters bend over from the waist a little bit when they cross, but Kamila doesn’t. Kamila also has nice speed coming out of her jumps too.

I would say that the main determinant of speed is definitely skating skills. Generally skaters that have a high quality of skating skills are able to generate speed in a way that looks effortless and with less cross overs than those with not as good skating skills. Thanks for your question!!

To me, it all looks like: We are not saying that Eteri is a saint or an angel, but we will not allow anyone to doubt that she is a saint.

The general consensus is almost all praise: russian media love Eteri, Ted Barton has been ISU ambassador for Eteri skaters, she obviously has millions of fans because of the results they deservedly won.

I'm not against all of that but rather reminding people that there is also the other side of the moon: the not very positive reports of behind-the-scenes stuff that immediately got covered up, or even the removed articles, Elena Vait suspended for criticizing Eteri,... In light of all of this how can you not say Eteri doesn't have an influence? It's either her or RusFed, and she's part of that council that take all the decisions, so yes she has an influence like Tarasova and others.

You can keep track of all of that, or just wait until someone opens the pandora's box and find more, or maybe some unedited film documentary like that Over The Limit they did for russian rhytmic gymnastics.

If you think russian media loves Eteri, it means you don’t read or listen to a lot of russian media...
(Some) People love her. Media? Not really.

The general consensus is almost all praise: russian media love Eteri,

I sincerely hope that you never-ever experience that kind of "love" in your life.

the not very positive reports of behind-the-scenes stuff that immediately got covered up

I always thought they were called rumours.

Elena Vait suspended for criticizing Eteri,...

She was fired after she posted an interview with Anya Shcherbakova where she deliberately misquoted Anya (forgetting that there was an audio recording), I believe.

and she's part of that council that take all the decisions, so yes she has an influence like Tarasova and others.

There are 26 other members of that Council; or are you implying Eteri controls them all?

You can keep track of all of that, or just wait until someone opens the pandora's box and find more, or maybe some unedited film documentary like that Over The Limit they did for russian rhytmic gymnastics.

Or you could come up with some facts, for a change, instead of repeating rumours again and again.

Well if you consider interviews with actual former skaters from that group only as rumors, then i don't think there is anything left to discuss on this subject.

Like i said, many facts are already out, the others still have to come or they've been canceled. Those who want to read them and consider both good and negative news, will have a pretty clear picture on the situation, the others will only see one side and ignore the rest.

My impressions come across as negative here, i think because i mention those more negative articles, but it's not all negative. I just wish certain things were handled differently. PR and health of the athletes mainly.

On the rest: Vait was already criticized for other opinions she had in the past on that group, it's not just for one interview, that was probably the excuse to fire her.

26 people are on that council, but they all take sides, as proven last year when they had to vote between Medvedeva and Tutktamysheva, most of them obviously stand for Tutberidze because she is the leading coach, why wouldn't you?
