2019 US Nationals Senior Free Dance

Solid program. Not super unique but nice.

Why are all the men so scruffy? Pls shave.

Not super unique. It's practically New Age Amelie. But I think, for them, an important one. They've done quirky and brassy and bold. Now they're learning how to rein that in, to use subtlety and flow, to let the emotion of the dance build slowly. They're coming into their own. So yes, an important program for them.

Wow wake me up with a punch. Great new lifts. Best Leo vocal since Radionova.

This H/D program is not my cup of tea. That first part was giving me Krylova overacting vibes. Glad they're getting this out of their system the first year of the quad because i think their actual skating is better than ever. The edges and power :luv17:

What a fantastic lift. And opening. Not sure I love the narration but they are attacking this. Love it!

What is with all the music changes tonight??? I feel like you lose audience momentum.

Good twizzles. Great ice coverage. They’re very in synch! Loved the program. Felt like no time at all passed.

I think that's the most frustrating thing about the free program.

The program is still a matter of polishing a turd, but I give them credit for finally -- finally!--doing REAL lifts that don't involve her stepping up onto his boot. Not for one nanosecond do I buy them as R&J. They're too mature, too 'knowing" to play innocent young lovers. Of course they'll win, but the Russians are MORE than nipping at their heels. And this program is like dead weight.

This program still hasn't entirely convinced me. They are for sure powerful and strong skaters, and their skating skills and speed is great, but something about Romeo and Juliet doesn't quite fit them for me.
Someone said before that the program feels upside down, and to me, that makes sense. The beginning kind of feels like the end. It feels like two different pieces that don't quite fit together just yet.
I love H/D a lot. I just don't know how I feel about this program and wonder how it will fare again internationally. I know they won GPF, but I'm not sure about Worlds. Wonder if C/B will overtake them here, or W/P internationally.
