All I'm hoping is for Parsons/Parsons and McNamara/Carpenter to move up in placements for the FD.

Nothing against these teams, but I hope they stay right where they are. If they move up, then that means my favorites move down.

My biggest "hope they move up" team is C/P. I'd love for them to win a shock bronze medal and go to 4CC and Worlds.

Damn, US Dance is just loaded this year.

I understand. You have your favorites, I have my favorites, and we all have our favorites.

It's crazy loaded oh my gosh.

This draw is also beneficial for Chock/Bates. They could suck all of the oxygen out of the room if they perform well and things could get interesting.

Sidebar before the event starts: Can anyone recall any previous year the free dance occupied NBC's Saturday night "prime time" slot at nationals?

If so, it only took NBC ~10 years to recognize ice dance as one of U.S. figure skating's strengths.

Huh, I thought they did the skating order draws by groups for the free - I'm surprised to see C/P in the earlier group and Mc/C in the later one.

I think they've gone 3-4-5 for the groups, so C/P are in the final group with M/C

Can't wait for Karina Manta / Joe Johnson - love their FD to "Sweet Dreams" by the Eurhythmics.

Watching my first competition live in like... fifteen years!!!!

Nicole and Oleg were good. They need more ice presence but I like the lift. Very Pechalat/Bourzat.

Alanna is dressed impeccably. Love the dress. Maybe a bun next time though.

They look pretty good for this being their first outing as a team.

Aw, it's good seeing Anastasia and Colin as coaches. I really miss them as competitors.

And I admit that I was very unimpressed with that skate until Charlie said this was their first year in dance. So okay, that's not too bad then!
