If Sasha was moving to America full time to train with Artunian, this would be exciting news. Him giving her a few lessons while on holiday is unlikely to impact her career trajectory in any significant way.
It is exciting news, but i m not sure about the outcome. Might be after the olympic, but before the olympic, it is a bit too risky. Rafael has his own technique and a skater need atleast 2 years before they adjust to his technique. I don't want another eunsoo case when she left with raf technique already penetrated into her old technique but have not completed it yet, hence her weird axis on jumping in the past 2 years. Thankfully korea is not yet as competitive as russia, so eunsoo has time to readjust, but it is a different case for sasha here. She has horde of army behind her, who is ready to replace her anytime.

I’m pretty sure Raf went “Hol up! I just went to visit their rink on my vacation, cause Plushenko invited me” on that whole thing.
It would be awesome if Sasha got to work with him, but for now there are no agreements of him working with her, seems like it was a premature announcement from Plushenko.

Maiia's "quad" toeloop is...not a quad. Nice salchow though. And the rest of the skating? Best not to talk more.
Yeah, yeah Karen Chen is the best skater in the world. We just saw that...I have nothing against Karen Chen, in fact there is some above average quality in her skating. But reading this disrespectful negativity ... just stop it, please.

I just saw this was posted Kamila doing a 4S: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VeXk_5YzCSE

I think Kamila is all set for the Olympics. The 4toe, 4sal, and 3axel are so easy for her. Stick with that, please!!! A SP with a 3axel, and a LP with 4toe-2toe, 4toe, 3axel, 4sal/// 3lutz-3toe, 3flip--eu--3sal, 3lutz would be unbeatable. Just keeping perfecting what you already have!!! No quad lutz or flip attempts!

I've also seen her practicing 3lutz-3LOOP combos. That could be another way for Kamila to gain a further edge? Thinking about it, a 3flip-3loop combo would be best imo. That could be her combo for the SP and in the LP with a 4toe-3toe, 3lutz-eu-3sal. I wonder what the BV for those layouts would be.... seems impossible to beat, with the rest of her skating, spins, GOE.
I think she would do 4T-3T instead of 4T-2T and switch the second 3Lz to 3Lo. So that makes it even better! As you said it's just unbeatable. Don't think about 4Lz/4F. Just perfect this.

She would need to up the quad combo to have triple vs. the double. I pulled several months ago, her domestically scored quads (which usually means better GOE than what she'd score internationally) scored lower than all of Shcherbakova's internationally scored quads less the falls and I think 1 of her quads at Cup of China.

Her 4T is so good now. We'll see but I think that stat is changing real fast. I would go as far as saying she doesn't even need the 4S to win.

Does anyone recall what Liza Berestovskaia's highest scoring SP performance was this season? (Which competition, that is.)

To me this was Anna's best SP of the season and maybe ever?
She was absolutely on point, the spins were up to her usual level again, jumps looked like she had no doubt at all and you can really see that she has something inside to give, like she really connects with the music and performance from within, not just repeating the coreo.
Anna abolitionists will keep complaining about her scores but whatever, you keep pushing girl.

Ohhh now I understand why Sasha switched boots! If Sasha's wearing the same boots Kamila wears I'm suddenly not worried anymore. 😂
i've noticed most Russian skaters wear either Edeas or Risports. Currently Kamila, Evgenia and Aliona wear Edea Pianos; Daria, Maiia, Adeliya and Alina wear Edea Ice Flys, and Sasha, Sofia S., Anna and Liza wear Risports. Sofia Akatyeva also wears Edeas although i'm not sure what model.

Risport must be a European skate, i don't know much about them. they aren't common here in the US- the majority here are Edeas and Jacksons with Harlicks sprinkled in.

Tech stuff:

Anna got a ! on her Flip today. That meant she lost 0.74 points. The initial GOE was 3.4 (1.80 points). The judges lowered it to 2.0 (1.06 points).
