I must say it's truly weird for me to read this interview now...
https://www.olympicchannel.com/en/s...ive-beijing-tutberidze-surgeon/?sf236033680=1

Why? Eteri apparently was standing right there with a gun to Alyona's head:

OC: How does it feel to train with Eteri?
Alyona: Eteri Georgievna is very often called the "snow queen". I believe that this is not the case. She is a very kind, open and honest person who will always tell the truth ... she will never hide it from you. Eteri Georgievna always helps us, always gives advice or points out mistakes and shortcomings. This can be both in training and in life. It is a stereotype that Eteri Georgievna is an iron lady. She's not like that. She is just human, and same as a mother.

I understand that you are his fan. But Russians will NEVER forget him that Constitution pro changes advertisment. I thought it's the end. But now he proofs othervise

I can say that most of the people with whom I communicate every day do not take statements on political issues in any way seriously, no matter who they come from. It's like white noise. Everyone has long been accustomed and no one cares about it, unless it concerns them directly.

For me the coaching change was actually not that shocking. When Alena said that they were not able to recover her 3A yet I had the suspicion that she may follow after Rozanov, since he helped her with her 3A before and Alena opened up last season how lost she felt before she had the 3A since everyone had ultra-Cs except her.
I wish Alena all the best with her new team. I would have loved to see her with Lambiel, Raf or BOrser, but oh well, dreams do not always come true in my case.

PS: I would take anything Plushenko says with a grain of salt. He loves to exaggerate for drama. If Alena actually actually liked her new programs or not is probably something we will never know unless she contradicts Plush in a new interview.

The more I think about the whole Alëna situation, the more I think that something must have happened. In the last couple of weeks.

Has Alëna been playing both sides and trying to get the best deal possible for the last couple of months? I don't think so. If Plushenko says she came to him two weeks ago, it feels like it is something sudden. And that also explains why she was working on new programs at the Eteri team, work that is all thrown away now.

Maybe Sasha pulled her over?. They may not have been best friends, but they were not unfriendly with each other either (remember at Europeans when Alëna invited Anna and Sasha to the top of the podium). Sasha and Alëna have been training together for years and years, of course they had contact with each other after Sasha left. Maybe Sasha was painting a picture of paradise at the new camp and Alëna wanted that too?

Is there something wrong in the work environment at Eteri's camp? Probably. We have had too many skaters leaving the last couple of years. But what is wrong? This is where the piece of the puzzle is still missing. There is simply something we don't know here...I think.:scratch2::scratch2::scratch2:

Catching up with the news about Aliona here has just been :jaw:  and a healthy side of

I hope Aliona's change of coaches helps her achieve her goals; can't say I expected it, but perhaps, as some have speculated, Rozanov and his rôle in helping her with her triple Axel was a significant deciding factor. It is very smart of her (or whoever runs her instagram) to close comments during all the (social) media turmoil.

I am also very curious as to what her new new programmes will look like, while also really wanting to see the ones that Daniil and Eteri choreographed for her. Though, given the way the two coaching teams have completely different stories and timelines, and new and conflicting information comes out every few hours, I am fully expecting to wake up in the morning and learn that she's sticking with her old new programmes. At any rate, best of luck to Aliona, and may she enjoy skating with the Angels of Plushenko!

That was the liberal mob, not Russians

Haha so everyone in Khabarovsk and Far East rn is "a liberal mob" and not Russians? Where is our "mighty one"? Why doesn't react?
Ah yeah, they are just "fiding pigeons" I forgot...

The only logical things for going to Plushy academy i can think of are:
1. Better training conditions (as ice, gyms, workrooms)
2. Money (as a better sponsorship deal, or a ticket to the ice shows)
It could always be some personal struggle the former team couldn't cope with, but knowing what Alena's aspirations are i would bet on number 2.

Eteri's empire is cracking. So far the only girls who have not yet left Eteri for another coach are:
Alina Zagitova
Anna Shcherbakova
Valieva, Usachyova, Maya and Akatieva
So many have left - Lipnitskaya, Medvedeva, Trusova, Kostornaya, Zhilina, Tsurskaya, Tarakanova, Sakhanovich, Panenkova.

That is not a problem at all. They are raising champions, not buying them

I can't speculate that, tho some informations about it actually did come up. By putting myself in Alena's skin i just can't find many other better reasons for it.

Tell us what you know [emoji102]

Well, i read that on this forum, and i found it as the most 'logical' reason indeed https://sport.business-gazeta.ru/article/257278 - only a part about sponsorship deals, i never read the whole thing actually. Plushy will certainly find more sponsors/money than Eteri would. That is hardly Eteri's field of knowledge/or interest at all to be fair, and Plushy knows a lot about those things.

I had to laugh at that

That is actually the main thing that sounds the most fishy to me. Could it really be true, as was reported in the first Instagram post, that Aliona presented Eteri with a "skaters I hate" list and an ultimatum that they would all have to be kept off the ice so that Aliona could skate by?

I have a hard time wrapping my mind around that scenario. But if it were not true, then why would Eteri say that it is? :scratch2:
