In a hard time like this when competitions don't exist, you still need to earn money somehow, don't you  And don't forget it is the parents who are making that decision, they are the ones who are 'investing' the money in all those skaters after all. I would say it is less about the relationship with the coach (unless we are talking about extremes) and more about the parents and funds and aspirations they have.

I get what you are saying, and it's a classic one. Parents wants the fame and money and their children have to work for it. Unfortunately I don't think this will ever work out in the long run. And I fear, in this case, that both Trusova and Kostornaia will suffer for this transfer. I hope I am wrong.

It will be interesting to see how team Shcherbakova will react to all this. I know nothing about Trusova/Kostornaia's parents, but I have read some interviews with Anna's parents, and they seem like they know what they are doing, and that Anna herself has full control over her own destiny (in that regard).

Look at 6:54. It seems that Sergey Rozanov has been helping Shcherbakova too. Not only Kostornaya and Trusova. Hmmm... And he joined ET in 2017, I read.

Rozanov was likely the main coach in charge of doing "fish pole" duties since he was the youngest of the coaching group and being taller than the skaters might've made managing the skater's weight in the fish pole easier.

How old is he? I can't find information about this. I tried both Russian and English.

I honestly don't know, I'm going based off what I've read on this board and appearance-wise we know that he's likely younger than Dudakov which is the other person often seen in videos with the fishing pole.

***Googling was highly unsuccessful, though I wonder if he's any relation to the clarinet player Sergei Rozanov, he died at 67 in case anyone gets asked that in a trivia question somewhere :laugh2:

he is older than daniil he will be 31 or 32 this year i remember last year team tut on ig posted happy birthday post.

I hope I'm wrong, but I see only two ways for her: either she prevail and dominate like Viner, or be annihilated (read: set aside or emigrate).

I don't think she can prevail like Viner, since Viner prevail is based not on sport results only,I would say the last is sport.

That's what I should endeavor to acquire. Some life experience.

"In spite of everything I still believe that people are really good at heart." It is too disheartening to me to view every situation through the lens of, "People are just rotten the world over, and that explains it."

Here is an example. As I've written before, my job is "public procurement specialist": In most countries if a public subject (state, city, state organization etc.) if a public subject wants to sign a contract (like to build a road, buy the office equipment etc. etc.), the subject has to chose the contractor through the public competition. The tenderer aspiring to gain the contract have to fulfill some requirements and submit the best offer according to the criteria you set (the easiest is the lowest price but there can be many more). This system is pretty harsh, anyone involved, who feels his rights were violated can object etc., so there are many things you have to be careful about.

Now, usually the rightists present enterpreteurs as highly rational people (esp. in comparison with the public sector) who don't bother with useless things, emotions, animostities etc. It's astoundingly far from the truth. E.g. you receive five offers, review them by how they fulfill the requirements, exclude those that don't and choose the best (or in many cases the lesser evil :) ). Now I can guarantee you that among those who didn't suceed you will mostly find at least one subject that will start to complain, that you discriminated him somehow, that the conditions violated the law or whatever. Most of such complaints are completely unjustified and the one who makes them knows it that he wouldn't win even if his complaints would be accepted (it can be even the one with the worst offer). He doesn't do that for the reason to change the result and gicve ghimself another chance to win, he just thinks "if I don't win, let no other wins as well. That's the common practise, I'm not saying everyone acts like that but there are more of such people, who act irrationally and the way that doesn't bring them any advance, than you would expect.

Sorry for little :otopic:

Rozanov helping Anna isn't some revelation, I mean he helped a ton with her rehab.

Oh, didn't expect the Anne Frank quote here.

I don't think she can prevail like Viner, since Viner prevail is based not on sport results only,I would say the last is sport.
And the type of her coaching is completely different - basically each gymnast has her own personal coach and Viner just oversees the training process as the 'head coach'. So unless Eteri is willing to hire 10 more coaches (and find a good financial source) to work individually with each skater, keeping all good athletes in a way that Viner does won't be possible.

Which means what exactly? That she was considered? Yes, it’s not the question.

If fed wanted to support Eteri they wouldn’t have overburdened 15 y.o. Julia with 4 skates at Olympics, that’s too much for a new senior, the burnout from that was not in the interest of neither Julia nor Eteri.

Fed acted in the way that gives them the highest chance of a team gold medal.
Whether or not Adelina was included in the team event had neutral to negative outcome for Julia: either 0 difference to Julia, because she would still skate and get a team medal, or made her life harder, because she had to skate another program. So if anything, I’m really failing to see the benefit of that to Julia.
Every skater cares more about the individual event, it would be in Julia’s best interest to just skate 1 program in the team event.

I agree, no benefit for Yulia and caused her burnout, but benefit for Eteri.

What is the benefit to Eteri from her burnout which supposedly was the reason for her mistakes in the individual event ?
Where is the logic in that ?

You still don't understand the first commandment, that Eteri is The Eternal Evil and everything else just follows from that :laugh2:

I don't think that the Russian Federation was trying to help Lipnitskaia, Eteri, or anyone else. I think they were just trying to win as many gold medals as possible. Put up the strongest team they could, then send up the strongest individuals.

They rode their fastest horse until she dropped. (Fortunately, their reserve horse in the individuals stepped up.)
