With the way they scored Anna, Medvedeva would've certainly been 2nd. They would've given her anything, even a 38 PCS to make it happen.
I agree .. even with everything .. she would had medal ... is she going to go to the second stage of russian cup?

Maia is always wobbly on her jumps and looks really uncomfortable with what she is doing to me. Awkward even. And she stepped out of 2A. I am yet to see her face emoting anything other than a vacant expression (Shrug) not sure that looks like a mature performance to me.

The scores are a joke but I'm really liking Anna this season. Her performance of the SP was much better at the Test Skates, but I love her lines and she's growing up so well. While her steps can be quite scratchy, I think she's the most sophisticated of the top ladies. Daniil did really well with her SP. It's his best in a while, probably.

I really want to root for Maiia, but she does need to seriously work on her expression. I thought Frolova was clearly second best today. I like her packaging, which is what Maiia is lacking. I'm really impressed with Anna Shcherbakova's skating. She is improving every year.

Anna‘s dress is so stunning. It could be her Olympic season dress, one of the most beautiful ones I’ve ever seen. Elegant and simple, yet the colour is so vibrant. Obvioulsy in class of her own.

Maiia looked like she’s the oldest girl in the event, lol. So tall, she grew even more from last season!

Anna's skating skill got worse. Very disappointed about the program and especially the step sequence. The position of crossover was just 😞

I just realized, Nebelhorn Trophy is next weekend, with no Russian Ladies in it (and no Japanese, Korean, American, Canadian, Italian and French either). Seems it will be an affair between Paganini, Saarinen, Kiibus and Schott.

My personal favourite is Kiibus (though it will be probably Paganini who will win the gold).

Weird, since I think her skating skills are just as good, if not improved.
Totally agree. I think Anna has really improved this season. I know there are others who have better skating skills than her, but I don't care. For me, it has always been something about her that draws you in and makes her skating look magical. Not everybody sees that, and that's fine, but we are a select few...;)

She has improved to me from last season which is remarkable when you think about the off-season the skaters had, the biggest thing that I noticed is that her spins for the most part are staying more centered and not traveling as much.
