Sigh... some of my faves now have to compete in the last two cups back to back just to qualify:
Gubanova, Tarakanova, Sinitsyna, Medvedeva and Kostornaia
I just hope they are healthy and able to compete
Also, I think Serafimah will have to compete in the last two as well....
This short season is a total mess I'm not a big fan of the stages too many athletes are not ready to perform. Why not just go with who placed at Nationals last year and if they're healthy let them do it again?

if a aliona is not ready or evgenia is not ready they should say screw this.

I don't even know but this Nastya G still skate? She did fine at the Russian Cup Final and I think she's through puberty so I was hoping to see her shine some this season. Apparently that won't be happening.

As for Guliakova did she skate yet in one of the stages?

The worst thing about a worldwide pandemic is the death toll obviously I've been tested twice for Coronavirus myself. Millions of people will end up deceased from this but I'm also worried that it's going to kill the career of a lot of athletes like a couple of the ladies I just mentioned. Nastya Ts career is like a cat with nine lives or so it seems. Does this unique and talent have another comeback at her?

this is the craziest yet most disappointing season ever and it could get worse because coronavirus is picking up around the world. Missing two world championships in a row would be unbelievable for this for which is already a niche sport to begin with.

It's what I was referring to in saying that Zhelezhnyakov seems to think that he made a great contribution to the skaters' success.
Don't know about the 'great' part, but make a contribution he did, and continues to till now. He has choreographed several programmes including ex numbers for TeamTut skaters.

Still, as for his classes, even when you look at this video you can see everyone is on a different level and comes accross differently. It is not like a group of proffessional dancers when you can say everyone is able to keep the same standard. And still they go through the same practice routines under the same dancing coach.
I am sure that most of them could deliver exactly the same routine if it were the task. I am also sure that moving in-sync is the core of practice for corps-de-ballet and modern professional dance groups while for those girls it's just one of very many activities, definitely not the core. Hence, from my part I would just enjoy and express my awe at outstanding skills of Anna and Kamilla.

the question is if other skaters have their quads back and are in good form like Anna and Sasha why doesn't aliona have her triple axel back? If she was say five or six pounds heavier from puberty for not being able to train properly in the offseason would that kill her 3A?

But at this point you are correct Ali there is no reason to kill yourself to get your jumps back in this abbreviated mass of a season. But that Leona went to PA specifically for young Sergei and his coaching ability so I want to see her 3A back.
well, we don't know if she has it back or not. just because we haven't gotten any news on it doesn't mean she doesn't have it now. she was marking her regular spaces for 3As when we saw clips of her FS a couple weeks ago, if it wasn't getting close i'd assume she would be training a different layout. i don't think we will find out until she competes either- they were a total surprise when she debuted them last year, and the last thing she needs is more added stress and expectations.

Aliona was injured and had serious trouble with gaining form. She was miles behind Sasha when she came to Plushenko. I don't know where she is right now, hopefully much further along.

Mariya Zakharova lists Ice Academy as her rink:

meaning her mother's coaching group moved?

and is now an academy, i.e. private enterprise?

Based on past experience of where she is training it would surprise me for her to have that jump back and it not be posted on social media.

Congratulations Aliona! One of the TT fans asked her:

“But what about the non grata list? So many small children are riding, horror, " - wrote a subscriber. :palmf:
"
“This is the ice of the younger group. At my training session, I train, not take pictures, ”Kostornaya answered.

This is just a karisma advertising.. It was so stupid question.

I want you to understand a post about sports.ru forum in this matter:

"Ну Косторная с огромной головой и лицом 30ти летней конечно теперь не пугает. Выгнали как обезьяну,теперь молчит и только Рудковским ноги целует."- Well, of course, Kostornaya with a huge head and face, a 30-year-old woman, is no longer intimidating. They drove out like a monkey, now he is silent and only kisses Rudkovsky's feet.

You can see the level of that "forum" and my friend, Edwin brings blogs and quotes from there.

There's too many music rehashes in russian skating and too much internal copying of on another. These teams should have someone going through foreign figure skating competitions(including and especially at the lower levels) and creating a database of music that could be used.

Or just explore more music in general. Skaters don't have to skate to something that has been skated to before. If I were a skater I'd purposefully choose music that was unknown or new. Make it your own, be the one who makes it popular. Why skaters choose to pick music out of the same bucket as every other skater season after season is beyond me. That's one reason I really love Shae Lynn Bourne--she has a habit of picking music that is different, obscure or completely new and turning it into something that really stands out.

That‘s what I love about her. She‘s got sass and personality. It’s never boring being her fan! I still remember her at the Euros Men’s FS conference, standing there in the middle of the crowd, smaller than everybody. Suddenly, when she spoke (and basically told Morisi congratulations but work harder, dude ) in her squeaky, high voice, everybody was staring at her, from fans to reporters to the medalists. She made us all laugh - even if most had no idea what she was even saying.

She‘s not always perfect, sure, (didn‘t like how visibly bored she looked at the press conferences) but she‘ll stand her ground and that‘s pretty admirable for someone her age who grew up in such a strict discipline as ladies figure skating.

Anyway, enough of the fangirling (in retrospective, I should probably have put this in the fanfest thread) here‘s part of her FS in training:

I don‘t like the first part, it‘s too frantic for me. But the rest looks nice!

Yeah, but this is lower hanging fruit. Imagining out well a song can be skated to is a lot of the work.

Butsayeva's group had to withdraw from 3rd stage of Russian Cup

"Our school (“ Moskvich ”) is closed, I have only a few people skating, those who are in the national teams of Russia and Moscow, and the rest, unfortunately, cannot prepare for any competitions. Due to the current situation, the training process was interrupted, accordingly, the competitions for them were interrupted. Therefore, our juniors had to be removed from the third stage of the Russian Cup, they had to perform in the category of boys and in the category of girls ".

Then, their prospect Yablokov isn't in shape right now:

I love her skating, so fluid and beautiful.

What is her music, sounds so familiar, but I can't recall.
