When the world is not enough for both of them ....

Beginning trainer will have to make some tough choices, the Angel or the Destroyer ...

It will be psychologically be the toughest stage yet, so we should wish all the skaters a good preparation, both physically and mentally.
I wish him good luck after the results. He will experiment what is like to coach two top skaters who are still teenagers.

This is the bottom! :palmf:You can't sink lower and all of those members who like this post. "Pinocchio" and his fans are not stupid, dude! We can see what is obvious. Anna was great! But she doesn't need unfair scoring.:bang: Read the internet! Anna collected many haters and those aren't Plushenko fans.
I feel you need a more positive post so I will give that. Anna has no haters if someone doesn't like scoring that's a different matter. But she does so much on the ice she's always going to score high. Anya is the favorite for a ladies Russian national 3 peat which is unheard of in these times of unbelievable talent and depth among the Russian ladies. The good and fair news is that Sasha and KV are close to her. We don't know about Aliona yet. I expect her to be good. How good remains to be seen. If Alona has lost her triple axel it will be hard to see her competing for gold with these other three great skaters.

Stage 4 will be incredible plushyfan. Everyone here still likes Sasha and aliona and can't wait to see what they do Head to Head.

Agreed!! I'm looking forward to it. But knowing one of them has to lose...:(
And then Rostelecom and RusNats will come, and maybe even more and more important competitions, with even more girls to root for, rejoice with and cry with...
Actually, this is my fondest memory of Anna - current leaders' sofa at the last RusNats, she just won and was sitting in the middle between Sasha and Alyona, distributing handkerchiefs right and left with this sincerely compassionate look... I am not joking, my heart really warmed up to her then, she was all like "yeah, I know how it feels...". Nothing like, "I have won, I have won, oooh, yeah, hurray!" kind of attitude which might be expected of any winner...

Yeah, Anna is a very gracious winner and loser. She's upset when she loses but mostly at herself and she has very high expectations for herself. When she wins, likewise she always tries to do better and is very empathetic to others.

But the pressure cooker all of them are under is insane. Somehow this year so many girls are going to be upset regardless of placements, and it will only get worse..
That's why I just want clean skates from all of them so regardless they feel like they left it all on the ice and performed to the best of their abilities, regardless of what those are - that's all they can control anyway. So I want them to be happy in their own accomplishments.

I ask seriuosly these disgusting posts are allowed in this forum? Hello, admins!
I have nausea, I'm leaving the forum for a few days.
Just make it one day and you will come back refreshed and ready to go.
Everybody leaves here from time to time for a few days or a few weeks and then come back. I've done it a few times over the years myself at the deepest level of frustration which you are feeling right now. But you need to know plushyfan You are not alone in this.
will come back refreshed and ready to go.

Only miss a day or two and then you'll come back ready to go totally refreshed waiting on the Sasha and Aliona stage 4 battle.

I think everyone here gets frustrated from time to time with posting and what they're reading and leave for a short spell and then come back. I've done that a few times myself and it helps and then when I come back I end up forgetting what I was upset about in the first place. ;) Russian ladies figure skating moves so fast it's hard to remember who said what or who argued about what with the ladies.

As for Anna she's always going to score high because she does so much in her programs. Even when she makes mistakes she's going to be scored well. The same goes for Sasha and Aliona and will eventually be the case for KV as well.

I don't think I'm a fan of the top 3 programs in general :slink: but congratulations to all of the medal winners!

Daria looks really fast in comparison to Anna and Liza but she also looked a bit frantic today. Not her best but tbh I don't know what she can do with that music and choreography.

The fact that this is even liked makes me laugh. I'm sure Putin will tune in for the Olympics though. ;)
And he'll be eager to get photographed with the new OGM and her coach, whoever they happen to be (provided, of course, the OGM will be Russian again)....

wasn't shown live in the main stream I believe

the detail in those dresses ....

Just one note. It gave me the impression that the girls would gladly miss taking the pictures after the ceremony and went to bed. After all the stress they must be tired as hell. I hope everyone will treat them well so they can relax a little.

I'm not the biggest fan of the free programs but still nice to see all the tech.

Anna was good! The only issue is 3Lz-3Lo. It looks like she was tentative (maybe tired), as the 3Lz rotation was the problem. Not more than 1/4, but not a good landing. 3F-3Lo might be better. I'm almost 100% sure she's doing 2 4Fs at Rostelecom since it's looking so good. Even last season I thought it would become more solid than the 4Lz, even though she was stepping out. Choreography a little uninspired, but the tech matters more.

Liza...why not 2 3As? It's looking so solid. And she's getting the running edge from the 3Lz but doesn't jump up high enough with the 3T. Also thankfully we're seeing an -eu-3S. Now if she can do a 3A-2T we'll never see that -2A-SEQ again I hope. Choreography same like Anna's, not that inspired but I'm liking her step sequence again.

Daria, only one major mistake! 2A looking so high now. I hope if she does 2 3As she can take out one of the 3Lzes. Her program has the most strongly-themed choreography, not the best, but I think her PCS should be highest.

Can Shcherbakova go back to her test skates dresses for Rostelecom please? They are much more elegant and she looks more mature in them.
Yep I wish she would, too. Actually, I liked the SP one a lot before they changed it, the more dramatic ombre was pretty but now that it's darker it loses the effect. And there's nothing wrong with the FS dress, but it's just plain despite all the rhinestones. I think all the dresses are a miss this year, except Daria's FS which is beautiful.

They fly back to Moscow this evening and a welcome with bouquets of flowers awaits them at the airport.

I do hope Anna is getting closer to that 3A. Sasha has one and many quads, Kamila has it + very high PCS and a quad, and from the sounds of it Daria is very close, and also has good PCS. We will see if Alena has hers back soon. A 3A in the short (and two in the free) + high components is very difficult to match even with a few quads in the free. I would say whoever wants to make it to the Olympics needs to have a 3A, so I really hope Anna learns it soon.

I think she started changing her Lz technique and now it causes problems with her 3Lz and 4Lz. She tries to hold on to a better outside edge and it seems to me she tried not to put her blade lower to have a better toe pick. My assumption would be that she’s trying to work on it more and it causes her attention problems.

Anna Shcherbakova won in Sochi, Dar'ya Usachyova - Silver medalist, Yelizaveta Tuktamysheva - Bronze

European Championships medalist Anna Shcherbakova became the winner of the third stage of the Russian Cup in Sochi, junior World Championship medalist Dar'ya Usachyova won Silver, World and European champion Yelizaveta Tuktamysheva - Bronze.

Commenting on the performances of Anna Shcherbakova and Dar'ya Usacheva, the coach of the Eteri Tutberidze group - Daniil Gleikhengauz said:

" The performances in Sochi were not perfect. Dasha skated very well in the short program, but made a mistake in the free program. As for Anya, in the short program we were very disappointed with the result. The cascade and not a quadruple jump had to be done, so Anya herself was so upset yesterday, after realising this. Today from the positive side: the first half of the free program was healthy with the set Anya showed. The quadruple flip is excellent for a big plus. In the second half, there were rough edges and small mistakes. But so far this is not the peak of form and there is still a lot of work ...

This all comes from a lack of competition. Because for girls this is only the second start. An athlete feels differently in both body and emotions when skating in training and in competitions. When you have a difficult jump, there is a huge surge of adrenaline, and due to this, the body begins to work in a different way, you can not control some moments, explained Daniil.

The quadruple flip, with which Anna Shcherbakova opened the program, turned out to be great in the free program, for a bonus.
Asking after the reason for this metamorphosis, Anya admitted that she had reconfigured herself: she jumped confidently in training and warm-up with a quadruple Flip. Two spins from her skating run were also performed for bonuses. And only the triple combination Lutz was left without a Rittberger. Anya then added a triple Toeloop to the Lutz at the end of her program, but this jump was not counted.

" Today I set myself up so: no matter what happens, I will go out and try to do my best, I will not allow myself to get upset, because in any case, if I did it this way, this is a reason to correct mistakes in training, and not to get upset at competitions. I was very much in the mood for a quad Flip. Since the last start, there have been advances in training, we even tried to complicate the program. But we decided to skate the same set at this start. Here I had the task of being confident in this jump and I coped with it. This is the only thing that allows me not to get upset today. All quadruple flips I managed both on the 6-minute rollout and at the skating run. This is a big plus. But, of course, I am upset about what happened later in the program. There was a mistake in a very unexpected place, on the spiral, after which I was a little confused. I jumped a cascade that one shouldn't jump. And in this part I am dissatisfied with myself, " said Anna.

Anna Shcherbakova scored 162.44 points for the free and 239.91 points in the sum of two programs confidently, outstripping her rivals. This is the second victory of the figure skater at the stages of the National Cup. Shcherbakova excelled at the first cup tournament in Syzran with a margin of 40 points from second place.

Another ward of Eteri Tutberidze, Dar'ya Usachyova (225.19), who was in the lead after the short program, confidently started the free program. She did everything, but at the end did not tighten the triple toe loop in a cascade with a triple flip.

" I am unhappy with today's skating run, because I made a gross mistake - I fell from the cascade. Of course, this is unforgivable. It means that we must continue to work. Before the test skates, I said that I really like the new program. I begin to understand it more, to get used to the image of Juliet. Now you need to dash off the program so that all the elements are performed cleanly, and emotions are transferred, " said Dar'ya.

Alexey Nikolaevich Mishin's student, the experienced Yelizaveta Tuktamysheva (213.26) had a chance to rise above the third place, which she occupied after the short program. Lisa perfectly and easily made a complex triple Axel, a cascade of the triple Lutz - tripe Toeloop, and then everything went according to an unplanned scenario, and Liza lost points due to her mistakes.

" It seemed to me that I concentrated very strongly on the first two elements. I thought it was the most important thing, and then everything will go fine, by experience. I lost my vigilance a little, but this should not happen. It turned out into these stupid, I think, mistakes for me. But this is the first start after a long break. The program has not yet been rolled out as we would like. Therefore, we need to work harder and work harder to avoid such minor mistakes, " said Lisa.

Liza recalled that they staged this program with Yuri Smekalov on Zoom during quarantine.

" It was a new experience. I think not only for me. I really like the program itself. It seems to me that in this new program I am new 'myself'. We worked hard on the choreography. Perhaps this is why the program is not broken in that way, because we spend a lot of time on changing hands, making clearer movements. It's not so easy to stage for a person who has been skating for almost 20 years, these kind of absolute
things that are not standard for her. We focused on changing the image. And now we need to work, because today's skating run was no good. By the next stage, I will already be in better shape, " added Lisa.

The fourth place in Sochi was taken by Sof'ya Samodurova (193.05), the fifth - Anastasiya Gulyakova (186.44).

European champion Sof'ya Samoderova had the first presentation of her new free program at a competition of this level. During the Open Test Skates, Sonya got a fever, and she was forced to withdraw on doctor's recommendation.

In Sochi, Sonya coped with her debut, did everything except the double Axel - Euler - triple Salchow cascade.

" I cannot say that I am satisfied. There were two rather gross mistakes. Step out in the short and on my "dupel" in the free. For me, a double Axel is the easiest and most confident jump, so I did not understand my mistake. Okay, I'll work. In fact, I really missed competitions ... I can't even speak ... Before the stage we had a training camp in Novogorsk, I was well prepared ..."

Sonya could not hold back her tears:

" I'm not crying because I was upset, it's just that I haven't had such sensations for a long time, adrenaline ... I really missed this. For many girls this is the second start, I have only the first, long-awaited one. But for the first time it's okay, " assured Sonya, saying that it will be better in the next start.

Daria looks really fast in comparison to Anna and Liza but she also looked a bit frantic today. Not her best but tbh I don't know what she can do with that music and choreography.
Frantic is exactly what I was thinking when she was skating, she appeared tight and nervous. She looked far more free and relaxed last week and was more invested in selling it.

I think unexpectedly being in first after the SP got to her. But overall outside the one mistake she did great and it was a leaning experience. Next time she will hopefully handle it better now that she knows the feeling
