will you stop with this bs already?special treatment Kamila was getting
Tara Lipinski won senior world's at 14. Kamila probably thinks she's being held back. I happen to think KV is a super special skater. Let's hope she stays healthy and happy and has a great career. She was divine. It is still buffling me though how much Eteri is pushing for Kamila. They have never done this for any other skater. I hope that they have a strategy to cope up with the stress and the expectations going into the Olympic season next year![]()
Yes, she is. At this point, it’s obvious she’s their number one Olympic hope - even in front of Anna - and not only theirs but of the entire RusFed. And quite frankly, the way they’re showing it, is driving me mad.It is still buffling me though how much Eteri is pushing for Kamila.
A +3 Lz will get 7,76. A +5 S will be the same than a +2 3Lz (7.09 vs 7.08), and having a +5 fron the whole panel is almost impossibile. So if somebody does a triple salchow (BV 4.3) and gets +5 under your proposal would get 7.09 (with a 3Lz getting 5.9 BV). This is more than Tuktamyshevas Lutz, which has a lot of difficulty). to me, this seems unreasonable reward and will result in biased judging having more impact on skaters, and will leave skaters like Medvedeva doing triple salchows in SP and getting more points than Tuktamyshevas triple lutz.
If somebody did a 3A with +5 they would get 13.2, but a 4T with +3 would only get around 12.6 . To me, this actually seems reasonable. I feel like the difficulty in achieving +5 would actually make this jump more difficult than a very difficult quad toe.
This leads me to wonder if the GOE system needs to be different for singles, doubles, triples and quads.

Yawn! Dear lord, the bitternessIt’s very obvious they (Eteri and RusFed) are pushing Kamila hard for OGM. Nvm that they already have 3 historically great/newly senior/never even gotten to go to worlds young ladies who could already reasonably sweep the Olympic podium. Nah, better be extra safe and push the 15 year old to the front cuz 15 is the prime age to win OGM!
It’s a good thing Anna is one of the most level-headed, well-spoken, and polite people in the sport, cuz if it were me I’d be pisssssed. Not surprised Sasha and Alena saw the game was up and got out.
Since last year (the 1st times I saw her) i did picture Kamila as the next Olympic champion in my mind, unless Sasha would destroy the field in Chen's style.Yes, she is. At this point, it’s obvious she’s their number one Olympic hope - even in front of Anna - and not only theirs but of the entire RusFed. And quite frankly, the way they’re showing it, is driving me mad.
Cute. You’re clearly a little sensitive about the very valid criticisms here. I love Kamila, and I loved Alina and Yulia and every other hotshot 15 year old on the Olympic war path. I don’t remember any other junior turning up to every non-ISU sanctioned event the year before the Olympics for the sole purpose of showing off how good they are. I also love Daria, and in many ways consider her a more artistic and expressive skater who is only a bit behind Kalmila in terms skating skills. Where is she at an exhibition? This is the perfect event for her. Perhaps we should bring the whole crew along, let’s show off Sophia Akatieva too. She may be the most exciting prospect of all!Yawn! Dear lord, the bitterness

All this “she‘s too good for juniors so we have her at senior test skates“ - No. Just no. We saw how this kind of insane hype went with Lipnitskaya. We saw what it did to Gracie Gold, in fact, she spoke openly about its disastrous effects. We see US figure skating not having learned anything at all as they‘re currently doing the same to Alysa Liu. (i wonder, frankly, if we might be seeing something similar in Sasha? She was the one expected to win after all, the Russian Rocket, the quad queen, the one who would “tear her competition into pieces“. That‘s a lot of pressure on a 15/16 year old) Sure, Kamila is not Yulia, she‘s not Gracie and not Alysa either. She might make it. But why on earth would you even risk it? There’s enough pressure on Russian ladies as it is. Why single her out and alienate from all her peers by making it seem as if she‘s too good for them? She is brilliant, no one doubts that. But she‘s also still a child. And I‘m sorry to say this but I‘m reminded of that very fact every time I see her skate. She looks terrified. All.the.time. Even when she‘s doing well, I‘m afraid she‘ll start crying any minute. Is that good? Is that worth it for an OGM? Maybe.
And don‘t get me wrong - she has everything I‘d love in a skater. The lines, the extensions, fluidity, softness, beautiful skating. Her SP is the best program of the season for me so far. But I just cannot get over the treatment of the media, RusFed and her own team and every time I watch her, this impression gets worse. I can‘t help it, it makes me uncomfortable. Because in the end, all I see is a very talented, very brilliant but ultimately scared child. And for me, that‘s not something I enjoy watching.
End of rant. I‘m sure I‘ll get the usual “you‘re just an Eteri hater!“ comments. That‘s fine. I‘d just like to say that I wish Kamila all the best and sincerely hope she will be one of those young hyped prodigies who do make it without being overwhelmed by the pressure. She did nothing wrong and she deserves to be happy.

It's not pure speculation, it's pure "haterfiction", specific genre of art.Well, to say that Trusova and Kostornaia switched the teams because of Valieva('s treatment) is pure speculation. Sasha already said that the main reason was due to the quads, hence it makes sense to go to Pluschenko. What seems logical to me for Alena is that she really had some disagreements with Eteri but mostly freaked out when Ryazanov left and followed with the hope to get her 3A back.
As for Kamila - based on the fact that her SP from the Russian Cup has already >1Million views, is telling that she is extra special, and her coaches and the Federation are at the end specialists, and see this as well. Still, I am just hoping that they are ready to manage the hype. There is still long time to go until the Olympics..
Kamila does perfect gala program and this is the reaction. I'm just glad the forum is back on the rail![]()
Let us not forget that Kamila is the reigning Junior World Champion, the reigning Junior Grand Prix Final Champion and the reigning Russian Junior Nationals Champion. It is called merit, not favoritism.Cute. You’re clearly a little sensitive about the very valid criticisms here. Agree! It is terrible! It’s very obvious they (Eteri and RusFed) are pushing Kamila hard for OGM. Unnecessary rant really (btw you made your opinion clear so many times already). She currently simple is the best Eteri and a joy to watch. Everyone wants to book her for shows, for sure. But they will have a hard time to keep puberty away til after Olympics. Everything can happen. Look at Anna, she was regressing and now the cold situation. Liza is done with puberty of course. Sasha who knows there might come more grow spurts. Alena actually seems quite done with puberty body wise already (hopefully she understands soon enouth that rosa dresses and momy hair are just tacky)-big advantage for her and LizaYes, she is. At this point, it’s obvious she’s their number one Olympic hope - even in front of Anna - and not only theirs but of the entire RusFed. You offer little chance to think otherwise, but I'm not here for evaluating users personalities. I'm simply stating that such reaction to the Rostelecom and the gala does no good to anyone, Eteri, Kamila, mr. Sexbomb or you and me. How about burying the hatchet?I know; I know, I‘m just a jealous Eteri hater who begrudges them any success and is secretly rooting for Kamila to fall every time she steps onto the ice. Thansk for reminding me.![]()
