Interesting.. but "learned" may still be a too strong word here...
BTW Gubanchik was quite exquisite today!![]()
Liza N is in Sochi training campSPb Championship also took place, alongside Moscow Championship.
For those who were missing Gubanova, she won the SP.
1. Gubanova - 70.59
2. Samodurova - 70.44
3. Sviridenko - 68.68
Tuktik, Stasia and Liza N. didn't compete.
BTW in paralell SPB championships is taking place currently:
Ladies have already ended SP so you have to shift the stream back. Gubanova is first (70.59) with Sofia Samodurova very narrowly behind (70.44).
She looked very good! Her jumps were all solid and she beat Samodurova on every jump element. She lost a bit on spins though. But why oh why hasn't she been competing??? She sooo belongs at RusNats but that won't happen...
Why are there score so low?Final standings:
1st Daria Usacheva (218+)
2nd Ksenia Tsibinova (200+)
3rd Maiia Khromykh (193+)
How so? Nastya has not competed in about 10 months. It's good that she's back but since she's been gone a lot has happened. Even more Russian girls passed her by. But the important thing is if she's healthy and happy at age 18 she can skate for herself and the enjoyment she derives from that.Interesting.. but "learned" may still be a too strong word here...

Daria made a mistake both in SP and FS (step-out, in SP from combo, in FS from 3F I believe), Maiia fell on downgraded 4T and 3F, Ksenia was clean, but with relatively less difficult content and execution (her GOEs were usually somewhere between +0.5 and +1). I'll try to find protocools, I saw scans on instagram, so they must be available. Why are there score so low?
It's good to know Nastya is back but we still don't know what the heck happened to her and why she fell off the face of the Earth for 10 months after she did very well in the Russian Cup final in february. And after not competing for almost 10 months how did she beat Sofia a European champion in every jump category as you pointed out since SS is in mid season form? How wonderful it was to see Gubanova again!!She looked very good! Her jumps were all solid and she beat Samodurova on every jump element. She lost a bit on spins though. But why oh why hasn't she been competing??? She sooo belongs at RusNats but that won't happen...
Overall, this competition was a bit fiercer than the one in Moscow. Talalaikina, who popped her 3Lo scored 58 points and is only 9th out of 15.
Also nice to see Anastasia Kolomiets, who is another fave of mine.
Thanks.Daria made a mistake both in SP and FS (step-out, in SP from combo, in FS from 3F I believe), Maiia fell on downgraded 4T and 3F, Ksenia was clean, but with relatively less difficult content and execution (her GOEs were usually somewhere between +0.5 and +1). Thank you!So I did look them up on YouTube. Sadly, I do not speak nor read Russian but I assume this link is to sort of a memorial for Igor Moiseev followed by the presentation of several of the group dances if anyone should be interested : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mLoJ04F2ad0. It is over an hour long but well worth watching if one has the time.
Probably she picked it up from GucciPretty weird tissue holder![]()
BTW the link for the today's stream of Moscow Championships:
