It is a shame that they all had coronavirus. Does anyone know if The Russian skaters can get vaccinated now?
Where are you getting your information from?
From what I have read here and elsewhere, isn't Evgenia the only one to have had it?
Even if you want to make a stretch and possibly include Anna's pneumonia, that still is only 2 skaters.

Just speaking about all of the Russian skaters who had coronavirus in general. Wasn’t using specific names

Thought experiment for anyone bored and who likes hypothetical scoring. Let's say for nationals Anna, Sasha, and Kamila all skate clean. Anna does a two quad program (flip and lutz), Sasha four quads in the free/3axel in the short, and Kamila two quads toes and 3axel in the short. Who do you think would win?
Interesting, as that is probably the exact layout they are all going for. I think it would be super close. But I would say, Kamila, Anna and Sasha in that order. PCS and spins would decide and that is where Sasha is left behind.

Without taking into account GOE, and presuming either Anna/Kami wins PCS, I still think Trusova would take it with her Tech content. If Kami did 3A in the free as well, it would be a different story

It’s very sad for these girls. Obviously none of this is their fault or doing, but their Federation does deserve to have consequences for their actions. We should all be grateful that the IOC is allowing them to continue competing :)
IMO the problem is that the impact of similar actions usually don't hit those towards whom they are aimed or who caused it.

Just curious but did team Tut go into quarantine after Evgenia got sick? Plushenko and Rozanov also didn't appear to after Alena declared? Are Russia's rules just more lax regarding quarantining when coming in contact with positive people? If so, why did Gubanova have to quarantine when she didn't get sick?

Based on an article I read, my understanding of Medvedeva is that she got sick with covid at the hospital when she was there for a minor procedure and given that she's been injured and rehabbing she might not have been around anyone at the rink where they would need to quarantine.

Plushenko and Rozanov also didn’t quarantine after Veronika got sick. In case of Aliona they both had 4 negative tests in a row, so I think this was enough to exclude the possibility of the virus and false negative test. Same testing procedure probably happened in case of Nika, I would assume.
Evgenia seems to have caught coronavirus in the hospital, where she was getting treated for her back.
In Nastia’s case, it was her mom who got sick. So I guess she was in a different position, since she lives with her parents, and there was no other way around.

If Sasha skated two clean programs with that layout, I think she would get a PCS boost and could actually win over clean Kamila and Anna.
It would feel like a redemption from her last skate and since she has never had a clean FS, it might impress the judges enough to give it to her.

Of course, as usual, such a layout is a huge risk and it's unlikely that we will see all clean skates in both programs.

According to Sambo-70's director, #TeamTutberidzeForProgress is in full health and strength for the coming National Championships:

Все фигуристки группы Тутберидзе здоровы и готовятся к чемпионату России - Спорт - ТАСС (tass.ru)
I can't read the article at this moment but does it say anything about Anna's second quad?

I know they were thinking of putting it in her last cup event but decided against it and with her illness happening after she lost some training time. Have they decided to go for it?

No, Layshev didn't tell anything about programs.

We'll have to wait and see at the Nationals, perhaps there will be leaks from early morning training sessions at the earliest.

They will be competing as OAR

They continue to get banned because their still seems to be reported systemic doping scandals in Russia during the Sochi Olympics - controversial topic so I don’t really want to get into the details Of “why” it hasn’t been fixed
Thank you for your input and I guess competing as oar is the best case scenario. Russia has so many great athletes in such a great Sports history over the past 50 years or so to have it painted like it's been is truly tragic for their 99% clean athletes.

Let's just hope the vaccines can get to these athletes and we can have a summer Olympics next year and a winter Olympics in February of 2022 so we don't see these unbelievable careers of the figure skaters for instance basically wasted. I'm worried about the world championships this year and Ash I would prefer if they did something even a virtual competition rather than nothing.. can the vaccine get to these athletes in the next couple months so they can have a world championship in March in Stockholm? the vaccine won't be the cure-all and end-all for covid-19 but it should help a lot. Even if the fans don't come to the World Championships I would still they rather do it if the proper precautions are in place. Missing the World Championships two years in a row would be beyond belief.

1tv released Sofia special clip!
Happy to see Sofia getting coverage and attention.
