Lovely press conference...but I didn't understand a word. A resumé anyone?

Who said that?I still am not seeing the logical basis for the argument that learning quads later is better for retaining them. That goes against all logic and experiences from other sports.

We had Ted last year already, even for juniors. The improvement this year was he was commenting the test skates. Next year maybe truly we will have him at press conferenceThis year they got Ted to do live commentary in English, next year translators for press conferences! Yeah probably too much to ask for![]()
Usually third spot at Worlds is up to federation to decide, so being top3 senior unfortunately gives a competitor nothing more than a possible ticket to Euros, but those are cancelled.now that the competition is over, who does RusFed send to worlds?
IMO, it should be Anna, Sasha, and either Liza or Aliona. Nugumanova skated well here, but AlIona/Liza would likely yield better results at Worlds.
If I were RusFed and I was being fair, at this point the third spot would go to Liza (unless they have another Russian Cup in which Aliona skated and beat Liza).
Although it wasn’t her best performance today, I think Liza showing up and competing shows she can regain the momentum from rostelecom by March
It’s not about age necessarily, it’s about technique. An 11yo should not jump quads if they have poor technique that will not bode well for when the grow/go through puberty. Outside of Tumtamysheva, we don’t know what The effects of having quads will be on the girls as they go through puberty.I still am not seeing the logical basis for the argument that learning quads later is better for retaining them. That goes against all logic and experiences from other sports.
The Russian Cup Final, 23-27 February, which will probably be like a Russian Nats part II will be decider here I think.now that the competition is over, who does RusFed send to worlds?

It is also unclear if Zagitova/Medved will return to competition. I think Zhenya will return and not Alina, but who knows!Usually third spot at Worlds is up to federation to decide, so being top3 senior unfortunately gives a competitor nothing more than a possible ticket to Euros, but those are cancelled.
With all the withdrawals, I‘m also not sure how the funding for next year will go. Gorshkov (???, I believe it was him) said that RusNats will decide the funding, but I can’t see how they will throw away Liza T. and Aliona off of national team for Liza N., that’s just not going to happen.
Also unclear what they’re going to do with Evgenia and Alina’s funding. Both girls clearly don’t need any money from the fed, but I think the fed would want to keep them on the team nevertheless.
Great minds think alike! The Russian Cup Final, 23-27 February, which will probably be like a Russian Nats part II will be decider here I think.
And RusFed has also said that they plan to arrange a competition instead of Europeans. What that means I don't know, will it be a national event or an event with invited Europeans?
Anna and Sasha should be clear though. It would be great (yay!!) if Nugumanova gets to Worlds but that's unlikely, unless she beats both Kostornaia and Tuktamysheva at Rus Cup Final.

Let's imagine countries could send 6 skaters, with 4 different events to compete in, but only 2 skaters per event (also let's imagine Valieva is age eligible and Kostornaia has no 3Axel back).now that the competition is over, who does RusFed send to worlds?
Those are ice creams! all there for Yabokov and Erokhov to eatWhat‘s with the stacks of Chipotle burritos in the Kiss and Cry?????
Ohhh...how interesting. Sounds tasty. I wonder if anyone actually ate one...Those are ice creams! all there for Yabokov and Erokhov to eat
Old-school Russian ice creams used to come either in a waffle-cup (which would be a generic no-flavor ice-cream) or tin-foiled like this (plombir ice cream). I‘m not sure whether that’s still the case, I haven’t been to Russia for a minute.
That company probably was appealing to nostalgic feelings, packaging their ice creams old way.
I think they all had to deal with puberty this year, maybe except Daria. Anna, Kamila, and Sasha all look like they've grown a lot during their time off ice. Both in height and bone structure.Alena has had some really bad luck. Puberty, injury AND covid illness all at the same time. Having to step off the ice when competition in Russia just got even more crazy deep. And the pandemic stole away her great chance at a world title when she was healthy. I can't imagine how all that plays on the mind. It really sucks.
If she makes the Olympic team after all that it's a miracle all on it's own. It's definitely not impossible, cause she's super talented, but it will be a very high mountain to climb
How can that amazing woman keep all of those awesome girls happy in the coming few years?THE TEAM!

The 3 on the podium today are the clear favorites for the Olympics if the Olympics happen in 2022 and elio na and wiser are also contenders. People think I'm out of line for saying that those 3 are the clear favorites to make the Olympics but I think it's obvious. I'm sure sasha can score with Anna and KV in any competition especially internationally. Alyona is obviously the most beautiful skater in the world and if she gets her triple Axel back she will be dangerous again to the top girls and lyza is there plugging away as always and with a clawed and a triple Axel next season she will be dangerous as well.I think they all had to deal with puberty this year, maybe except Daria. Anna, Kamila, and Sasha all look like they've grown a lot during their time off ice. Both in height and bone structure.
It's a miracle for any anyone to make the Olympic team. Being top 3 in the country in anything is a huge accomplishment, especially when you have multiple junior/senior world champions in the mix. I wouldn't count Alena out; didn't she relearn and stabilize her 3A in 3 weeks last season? And Anna and Sasha both managed to learn a 4F in a very short time as well. Sasha did two 4Lz with a hip injury today, and Anna went clean with 2 quads after pneumonia. It's impossible to say who's completely out, but even if we were to rank them, Alena isn't that far behind, still in the top 5 along with Liza, who could be very close on any given day. Alena did just beat Sasha at Rostelecom (whose score beat Anna at another cup event) and Liza won over both.
