Yeah, the rule is that O turns into A when there is no emphasis on the O. But where the emphasis falls you can only really understand fully if you are a born Russian speaker.Her name is pronounced Fralova?

I still struggle with it a lot and I've spoken Russian for years. The same goes for when E is actually E with dots (Ё) and thus pronounced "yo".
