We had the same last week during some of the competitions at the Ice Star. Hearing "For Belarus" umpteen times in a row. But that announcer was not excitable at all.

@anonymoose_au commented at one stage that because she had heard it so often before going to bed, she would be having dreams about "For Belarus" that night. Well, if she has dreams about "Representing China" tonight, I am sure they will be very lively!

Siyang's doing really well! You go girl!

It hasn't been a great event for the oldest skater in the field.

I think this has been a perfect demonstration of the effect that not having competed internationally for so long can have on you. You lose any sense of where you are in relation to skaters in other countries when you are only up against the skaters in your own country.

And unfortunately, Zheng Lu was out of her depth here against skaters that have been on the international circuit in recent years.

Siyang was super charming! This was my first time seeing her. I think she has a lot of potential and she's still so young.

For me, Jin Minzhi has been the revelation of this all-Chinese Cup Of China.

OK, so it was not the best performance today. But, never mind this being her first Senior GP; this was her first ever international competition. She was probably nervous. Especially since she was going into this FS in a provisional podium position.

And she will finish the competition with a medal!!! What a great early birthday present!!!
