I would just again like to declare how much I dislike almost all Russian coaches and officials. And, if we want to extend that beyond Russian borders it if fair to say that I dislike almost all figure skating coaches because most do not prioritize the health of their athletes. Zhulin's interviews are especially irritating to me, and almost always display a nugget of misogyny just for fun....
He cares a lot about her, you should read interviews with him. Saying ‘everything is fine’ is a very typical Russian coaches’ thing to say, even if it isn’t. I love Russia, the Russians and I’m a mega Team Russia fan, but the ‘we can’t show any weekness and we’ll be fine’ attitude sometimes annoys me as well. Trust me, I’ve had years of it as a Stolbova/Klimov fan. At some point, you’ll start to ignore it and read between the lines.
