There was a time not too long ago that I raked through Ashley's twitter, instagram, and any articles i could find around the time of 2018 nationals and the months after looking for evidence that she said something against the girls who made the team (i believe there were accusations on here, once again) and i could find NOTHING. there are articles i found where the author compared her to Bradie, but nowhere did Ashley herself say anything or even "hint" about Bradie's skating or that she took her spot. It’s not a childhood game of gossip. Ashley commented on her performance and the results shortly after nationals. I’m sure she was disappointed. Intimating means she hinted, she never outright said anything negative about Bradie. I’ll see if I can find the article for you. Regardless, she did give the impression if anyone “took” her spot, it was Bradie. I found it surprising because it was obvious that her and Karen were fighting for the last spot. Bradie secured her spot squarely by winning nationals in 2018.
Ashley actually said USFSA made the right call sending them, they earned it, and wished them well instead of insinuating or outright saying anything against them. she did that here in this video: https://olympics.nbcsports.com/2018...-show-interview-olympic-figure-skating-video/
and here is what she said after her nationals scores, where again she said nothing against any of her competitors, only her scores: https://olympics.nbcsports.com/2018/01/05/ashley-wagner-figure-skating-nationals-comments-video/
she is absolutely not wrong she was held down at nationals in PCS relative to international competition that season. we all know home cooked judging is much more generous. that season in the SP, she earned a 33.47 at skate canada and 33.68 at skate america where both times she had more technical errors (and competed injured at SA) vs a 32.94 at nationals. i'm not making the argument a fair PCS score would have put her on the team, just pointing out the numbers support her argument.
