I don't know, but I think it is not likely that Sasha had any problems whatsoever with Anna. They are mortal enemies on the ice, yes, but somehow I feel that all the videos we've got with them together seem to suggest they are having great fun on the ice when they are together.

And that also really showed in all the backstage footage we got from Nationals and Worlds this year. The only two competitions they competed against each other. It looks like real friendship.

I think that Sasha left because she wanted to do more quads. However, there might have been some kind of situation where Alyona took up too much space. After all, Alyona was the most successful of the 3A in their debut senior season, and maybe Sasha (or her father!) picked up on that and decided to leave.
Yes that's the point, I'm really starting to think that Sasha doesn't have big problems with anyone and it's someone else pulling those strings. At RusNats for example both Anna and Sasha didn't want to do their tradition without Aliona. God forbid (in hindsight) that Anna moved to AoP, however I think it would be the same situation with Sasha wanting to be separate...or someone wanting that for her, or both.

Well I think we see her compete unless she gets injured again but it doesn't surprise me if we see her prioritize her non-competitive skating opportunities because thats where her future is at
That's ok, but the Grand Prix competitions are sooner than all the main ones. I would get it if the shows were December time.

But then again, I find it strange that Sasha moved, and then comes Alyona a few months later. When did this "I don't want to skate with Alyona" really happen? If that was the case at Eteri's, surely Alyona would have known about it. So why did Alyona join Sasha later? It all seems a bit strange, and I'm sure that's because we don't have all the facts. I'm thinking though that Alyona panicked when Sasha also brough her favorite coach, Rozanov, with her.

First of all Kostornaia I don't think went to AoP to join Trusova, the only 'factor' I would be willing to bet played a role is if she saw Trusova landing quads so quickly after the long break and what appeared to be a very different environment. And if Trusova didn't want to skate with Kostornaia - would Kostornaia have really known that and if that was the case, would Kostornaia really alter her decision about her figure skating career because of another skater? If you thought you had a shot at the Olympics would you really change what you thought was the move to make because another skater at that rink didn't like you? Most teenagers I've known if they were in a position where someone else didn't like them they would say I'm going to do what I want and if that person doesn't like it then they can leave.

In neither of them. Full list incl. reserves.

Juniors:

Sofia Akatieva
Elizaveta Berestovskaia
Sofia Muravyova
Adeliya Petrosian
Sofia Samodelkina
Anna Frolova
Maria Zakharova (reserve)

Novices:

Alina Gorbacheva
Alisa Dvoeglazhova
Anastasia Zinina
Elizaveta Osokina
Daria Sadkova
Ulyana Shiryaeva

Edit: in the additional list there is also Sofia Titova among the novice reserves

Which still doesn't mean she can't get a JGP spot, Aliona Kostornaia wasn't a member of the national team in 2017 and got entries thanks to the good results at domestic competitions.

Hey @flanker this question has come up several times, any chance you could make mention of this in the first post of the thread that the national team is mostly about funding and GP be it senior or junior isn't really affected? It might help some people.

I get what you are saying, Teenagers are teenagers. And that's good...but it can also be bad. I think this case has a mixture of both good and bad.

You want me to join the fight with the windmills?
OK, I'll make a note.

The resent photos from the Novogorsk Camp present the whole pack with Kostornaya and Trusova among the rest.
The Prodigals acepted back?

Right now, I think the single best improvement for Sasha would be for her father to back off. I seriously wonder how many of the things Sasha doesn't like or refuses to do are actually Sasha's opinion, and how many are her father trying to meddle.

the ones from Daniil's birthday? Aliona wasn't in them for some reason but Sasha was. But Aliona wouldn't have been in the Tutberidze show if she wasn't officially back with them.

Aliona and Sofya were the only two missing, but i did see Aliona recieved a gift from her fans yesterday.

I believe skaters can arrive later, or leave for a couple of days/weeks in case they have some urgent matters.
Aliona is passing her final exams in her school. I would say it’s like SAT in the US, you do those exams when graduating from your school and applying to Unis (called USE in Russia). She will probably join the rest as soon as she’s done.

Anna and Sasha are 1 year younger, so they will be passing their exams next year.

I've heard rumors that Eteri already has had Olympic program ideas for Anna, Sasha, and Aliona in mind for years. Do you guys think that there's any truth to those rumors?

Might be!
I think she might have had ideas of programs for years and was looking for whom that idea would fit best to, like she did with Don Quixote.
In one of the recent interviews (I don't remember which one, maybe that was the one in Mexico) Daniil was asked about choreos and he mentioned this, that he and Eteri of course spare some ideas for proper moments like the olympic season, so it's not like they have to create everything just now.

I just hope Daniil will return to the tradition to introduce the new programs in Novogorsk.

So who do you think will emerge from this camp with lots of vids of them landing ultra-c? Will Maiia be the first to land the 3axel before Daria, Alyona or Anna? Or will Kostyleva get the 3axel first? I can't wait for the practice vids!!! Maybe Kamila will start hitting every quad?
