The Flutzes and Waxels ladies actually thought they should have won US Nationals. I wouldn’t go that far. I did think they should have been second as I said ahead of that obvious twizzle error. And I think Heart of Glass was a masterpiece. Surely, I thought, the International judges will reward them for it. But no.I'm completely out of explanations as to why judges have fallen out of love with them.
Setting the technical elements aside (because I really can't differentiate between L3 and L4 dance elements), I thought they had the best programs... certainly best free dance... of any US team last season.
How long ago did the knee injury supposedly occur? I hope she is ok. That’s all they need.Any one know how Chock & Bates or Hawayek & Baker are doing? What they are planning to skate to?
TSL mentioned a knee injury to Kaitlyn. I hope it is not serious, just untimely. They were improving and really finding their voice and were poised to start making a move upwards. I know some say the judges were not impressed, but often the judges reward you the following year for improvement. Kinda like show me again before I give you the marks. Kinda like Piper & Paul having to pay their dues. I am very eager to see what these two teams have planned. I think there is an opportunity for. Chock & Bates if they stay healthy and continue to make smart program choices. I loved their uptown funk in the last RD, so the potential is there. So far I am okay with Hubbell & Donohue RD, but find the free uninteresting and uninspired. I love Green & Parsons everything and see them passing Carreira & Ponomarenko. Christina & Anthony are very good, but neither one seems to standout making the projection seem rather flat. Maybe just me, maybe the programs just need mileage. Caroline Green just has star power, I cannot take my eyes off of her. I also think the next tier of US dancers learned a lot from getting to compete at Skate America last year. I see some nice development happening.
Well, before the US Classic, hence their withdrawl. How long ago did the knee injury supposedly occur? I hope she is ok. That’s all they need.

I was just about to ask this question. I have always loved them and look forward to seeing them.Any one know how Chock & Bates or Hawayek & Baker are doing? What they are planning to skate to?

I wouldn’t worry, Moonvine—they seem to have been at Champs Camp in August, because there were rumors of their music choices being discussed on FSU at that point. (A disco RD, and a classical FD, IIRC)And yes, before…a day, a week, a month? Goddess I hope it isn’t serious.
I have been trying to find the link to where they mention it, but haven't found it. I know it exists cause I rewound it to make sure I heard it correctly.Where do you keep the pull Arabians? Any chance you could let a few out?

There were several of us who dropped by their IG page to check on them and they did not respond, which of course is not required.I wouldn’t worry, Moonvine—they seem to have been at Champs Camp in August, because there were rumors of their music choices being discussed on FSU at that point. I’m sad I never got to see them skate in person. They were famous for those Arabians. The crowd would go wild!
