2021 Cranberry Cup International

Report from men’s practice:

Donovan’s SP is Santana only at the start, then switches; charming as ever
Bychenko’s SP music is a terrific version of the Hall of the Mountain King, looks like a fantastic program, can’t wait to see it! Bychenko, who knew!
Vincent’s jumps look fabulous (one seemed a bit under.) very strong!
Next group now taking the ice. PS there looks like plenty of parking, and they are well organized—don’t let that deter you from coming

+10 for choice of music, I can´t wait to see this program!! I can easily picture uncle Bychenko in this program, it will be great.
Damn... it almost makes me reconsider staying up late after all :coffee:

Tomoki’s music, some sort of blues with male vocal I can’t identify, but I approve
Camden—“Come What May.” Why, Camden why? Your skating is so beautiful, so fluid, every movement so lovely—WHY do you inflict this music choice on us??!!
Jimmy Ma, in man-bun (points off for that) a spare, slow (but actually quite nice) piano take on Swan Lake. It’s strange to see him playing it straight (though he has some flapping arms towards the end). He has clearly been working on his opening jump, which he nailed, to strong spontaneous applause from the (sparse).crowd

To anyone planning to come:

no in and out privileges for parking (unless you are a competitor, and when I volunteered that I am not, I was complimented for my honesty—in retrospect, I decided that I should have said I was Aljona Savchenko (those who have met me will get a big chuckle out of this.) no place within walking distance to get food, so while you are here, there is only club food—okay, but not all that impressive.

Absolutely beautiful facility, though!

And for pairs fans—just you wait til you see Tarasova/Morosov’s SP death spiral. Absolutely exquisite, unique entry and exit. Seeing them close up practicing a foot or two away from you is an experience difficult to describe in words. Eteri is here with them, btw.
That man can jump, too. I got a very close up view. (Lady B, I hope you are reading this!)

Haha, yes it's tempting... so many great pairs and men in the middle of the night:dance3:

Thanks @Seven Sisters for practice reports!

I know we have many ladies fans here, so I’ll try my best to describe their practice last night, though ladies are not really my thing. None of the top ladies had a really scintillating practice, lots of falls. Mariah’s SP, IMHO an epic fail—disjointed mess of unappetizing music cuts, and worst of all, program doesn’t suit her at all. Comparable to last year’s ABBA program. Apologies to her fans. Actually, it’s her choreographer who should be apologizing to you :)
