T/M are stuck between a rock and a hard place though. If they just skate the program, they'll be accused of being boring. But when they make non-boring music choices people laugh at them.

I guess this is just trying a middle ground, but I'm not sure it's going to work

I like the program but that has to be the most pointless costume change I’ve yet seen, and I hope they take it out because I worry it distracts Evgenia’s focus. Like, the music didn’t even change?

Exactly. It's so pointless. And the original dress was prettier too - the second one is fine, but it hangs a bit weird over the other skirt. Ditch that please.

Otherwise a nice program from what I saw.

I think it absolutely will work (minus the costume change). I think most people enjoyed their programs last year, too.

Really liked Katie and Nathan. I hadn't seen them yet. But has she loaned her dress from Kirstin Moore-Towers (who wore a similar one at the OG 2018)? Not that it doesn't look good, it does.

I like the fresh look of T/M's costumes, and the choreo is interesting. But they still made a jump error. The judges love them though. I think that was an overly high score. Judges just want to reward them obviously.

I guess the judges are giving them high GOE on everything and if they'd skated clean, their scores would be out the wazoo in the plus 80s.

Nate did only a double, which took them down further than the high 50s they usually get. The judges refuse to score Katie & Nate fairly on their good presentation skills. Gah.

I didn't like their FS very much, that singing was awful. I hope they have something different this year.

I did love the SP, my favourite part was the slide into the SBS spins, that was really cool.

I should work on blocking out negative thoughts, but alas the first thing that popped into my mind when I saw the costume change was people sneering and going "That's pathetic, but what else can you do when you've got no personality to work with?"

I’m actually pleased to hear the Twilight OST (it’s quite nice!) but I assume these Swedish siblings are not actually portraying Edward and Bella lol

Nice to see a pair representing Sweden again. I liked the gentle lift and spin in the air at the start of their program.

Katie and Nathan have a sweet quality to their skating. They need speed and better elements. (she is new to pairs skating). But, I find their partnership and performance to be compelling. I think judges will not score them well until they start skating faster and performing elements with more confidence.

The Crawfords are a very attractive pair (aren't they)? Are they siblings? I assumed they are. They are very attractive. ! Some nice qualities to their skating, hopefully, they will clean up the program as the season progresses.

Edit: I see that they are siblings. Still attractive but the program choice is a bit suspect.

Always a joy to see the Crafoords...it isn't at the level of T/M of course but I am so happy they're still at it! And they really are nice to look at. I felt so sorry for them to have to miss the WC in their home country. New season, new chances....

I didn't notice T/M's mid-program costume change. LOL. Overall, I thought the music and costumes are okay, but not a wow. Nothing that's out of the box special really, but it was nice. In any case, they were over-scored IMHO. They need to project more as usual and skate clean because they can. It's like the judges spot them 10 points before they even begin.

I was wondered why T/M were competing here instead of someplace closer, then I realized that they would have to quarantine. Well it’s nice to see them so early in the season. A gold here them off will start off the season nicely. I hope they can get their SBS jumps.

I think Spencer is really selling this program well. Man buns work for Latin dance. It's nice to see a male pair skater even more committed to the performance than his partner. I liked that.

Spencer and Emily skating better than ever here! Loved that program. So much energy and chemistry!

I’m liking Chan/Howe more today than I remember previously but that lift position was kinda ugly. Nice commitment to choreography though!

Emily has gotten so much better with her pair elements! They look good together.
