I think there was a back-loaded 3-3 there, and don't forget we are in the US and Alysa is the US's podium shot this year and Young You is not an American so I wouldn't be surprised if there was some home-cooked scoring, but then again at this point we can't really judge Alysa's FS since the stream was so bad

Protocols are up. Alysa did not attempt a quad and her 3a attempt was downgraded. Other jumps looked okay except for a q on the 3lz-3t

After the 3A it was more or less standard content, but all spins and stsq were on lvl 4 (and she received higher GOE on them than on jumps). 71.18 for TSS, 64.14 for PCS.
Gotta disagree on the music; i thought it was glorious! Such a nice change from all the angsty pop ballads.
I think it is a very good Olympic program, from what little I saw, it looked to be very well constructed. And Alysa Liu has one of the best spread eagles around (inside and outside)-although I think she does too many of them.
She had a condition with her leg/foot before she got on the ice. It says it in her statement she posted about the withdraw!I'm back for the final group (but virtually). I'm not surprised Amber withdrew; I was able to feel the floor vibrations when she fell during her warm-up (I was sitting really close to her). Wishing her a speedy recovery!
As a classically trained pianist with lots of classically trained violinist friends, it was (quite literally) music to my ears. I stopped watching Alysa and just sat back to enjoy the virtuosic display of violinistic prowess.
Young You fell twice, on difficult elements (3A and 3lz). Her second 3A was under-rotated. Those errors probably cost her around 14 points. That is why she scored so much lower than Alysa.

I was comparing both of Alysa's layouts (Sun Valley & Cranberry), they did change a lot of stuff. And I wonder if that was probably NOT the best strategy given that she was skating in Cranberry 1 week after the layout they prepared before. I hope Jeremy sees this and makes a plan for her. She is capable of a lot more.

I think she's going for a woodpecker? But it really looks weird, something less distracting would be nicer.

Couldn't watch not even a third of Alysa's program with this terrible stream. She seemed to be in good spirits but not as confident as yesterday. I think her team knows that she has to work a lot on her FS. So I'm really looking forward to Nebelhorn.
