2021 Cup of Russia - Stage 1 - Syzran

Nearly whole RD music choice this season is awful. ISU wants to be "modern" probably, but I was hoping the compulsory dances will be chosen with some dignity for the olympic season. Or I'm just an ageing grump.
Indeed...kids these days *waves cane*

They are all cute BB!ice dancers though, so we can't be too harsh

On that note I must be off it's nearly 11:30 and I gotta work for the man tomorrow.

Although I might stick around to see Anna Scherbakova the Younger and partner. I'm intrigued!

OMG! Sviridenko and Morozova at seniors!

The Russian Cup series is really going to be a bloodbath this season.

Has RusFed changed the rules and Everyone needs to do at least one stage now? It's odd that skaters with GPs are here...

I wonder if this Anna Shcherbakova has ever met the other Anna S.

That reminds me, there's a patron at the library system I work at called Alexandra Scherbakova, I was amused.

Anywho I liked Egor's split that was really cool.

But now I shall be off! Good luck to the rest of the dancers!

See you around tomorrow.

:laugh2: What's with "Come Together" this season?!

Early shout-out to Khudaiberdieva and Egor ❤️ Bazin! I've gotta go to the pub, but I'll watch their video later.

I know, but many organizers, commentators and fans don't and in many of the official international (english) materials the patrynomic will be missing, I guess.

Just for info: We've got a dedicated section in the Russian Local Competitions thread for the SPB Cup:

Oops! My bad...

This is such an exciting competition so many high quality disciplines. Looking forward most of all to Pairs. In Juniors the new pairings for M/M and seeing how Kunista does. In Seniors, hopefully for a strong clean skate from T/M. Has Shagalov and out of Juniors?

It’s a very demanding weekend for a figure skating fan.

Thanks for the reply, Minz. I can connect with the Channel 1 website via Romania also (at least my VPN says so--I've not tried it yet); but I can't make heads or tails out of the Cyrillic alphabet in order to click on any links, etc. Ideas? How would I find the video live stream there?

As far as your VPN not including Russia--mine doesn't either. I figured that since Russia has its own 'world wide web' system entirely, maybe VPNs won't work with it? Yet we can 'get' many Russian sites and even have printed pages translated--just no translations of sites that have videos on them, or that is my experience.
My VPN provider used to have a Russian server but they dropped it. I believe it was due to Russian restrictions requiring logs of internet traffic to be held, which was against my VPN provider's privacy policy.
