OK, thanks to bunch of sods I've missed the ice dance. Just when I wanted to start watching Cimlová/Hlavsa, workers who are doing a reconstruction of one of the appartments in my block cut the wires by accident and the circuit breakers cut the power off the whole block. Just perfect. Saturday morning, people in the house, families preparing the meal and so and then this out of the blue. Now part of the line is working so I have the extension cable in the socket in the bathroom (also my fridge is plugged there) so I can work provisionally
I was going to tag you in one of my comments earlier, but decided not to since you weren't with us.
Sorry to hear that. That is my nightmare, that there would be a power cut when I was in the middle of doing something on the computer. I have a pile of stuff that I want to transfer from one hard-drive to another, but I keep thinking "what if there's a power cut?" And I don't do it.
British Telecom are trying to get people up our avenue to switch our landline phones over from the copper wires to being provvided through our broadband routers. But, that would mean that if there was a power cut, we wouldn't be able to use the phones. Or call the emergency services if they were needed. So, we're resisiting!

Well, I was exorcizing a little when I was turning the comptuter on because it doesn't like such power failure for sure. Fortunately everything works fine, no data lost, no hardware damaged.
