2021 U.S. Nationals: Senior Free Dance

Well they're happy and that makes me happy too!

Still...I'm surprised the judges didn't feel it. Ah judges you bemuse me so.

I love how that music makes Madi glow, so Hallelujah and I'll say it again. While I'm at it, I love how everything Zach does is to both match Madi and highlight her.

Gorgeous skating! H/D for the win

So, while this is their best program in a couple of years, I don't find it choreographically that interesting. It is their skating that brings some excitement to it. I think in terms of speed and flow, this should put them in first. Though for me the performance of the night was H/B.

Yeah a BIG freak you to the judges.
It's a shame for sure! They could have at least made it closer...but I guess 3rd is 3rd.

But really Kaitlin and Jean-Luc need more props, their versatility! I mean they can nail a Bee Gees program and a beautiful lyrical FD... And their exhibitions! It's a talent that can't really be taught. It should be nurtured.

Ahem sorry Maddie and Zach I was distracted, that last lift was really lovely though! And the choreo slide was great too.

I like the opening and ending, but I think I pretty much agree with you.

I think Hawayek/Baker really suffered from the non-season-ness of this season, if that makes sense. I think if they'd been able to get the program out in front of international judges to some acclaim, maybe snag a Grand Prix medal or two, they'd be better positioned in the US judges eyes. Which is depressing, but hey.
