2022 Crystal Skate

The 2022 Crystal Skate will take place Oct 26-30, 2022, in Bucharest, Romania, at the Patinoarul Allianz-Țiriac Arena. This international event will feature the singles discipline (Women and Men) in both the Junior and Senior categories.

The competition will be conducted in accordance with the 2022 ISU Constitution and General Regulations, the 2022 Special Regulations and Technical Rules for Single Skating, as well as all relevant ISU Communications.

The Crystal Skate Of Romania has started, but I am not able to do my normal type of reminder posts because I can't find the stream, and the Time Schedule PDF links are all going to 404 error pages. Hence, I don't know when the resurfacings are.

So, what I will do is try to guess when there might be a logical time for a break!

We are back from the (very long) dinner break for the final Interclub competition before we move onto the ISU competitions. And we are staying with the girls, but moving to the Advanced Novices. A group of just 4 girls.

In contrast, the equivalent competition at the Tirnavia Cup in Slovakia, which is also due to start now, has 45 girls!

I forgot it started todat. Too many events this week, I am getting lost.

Anyway, solid SP by Zandron and Indelicato.
As often happens, the combo troubled Gutmann. If she goes for a 3+2, it needs to be smooth.

I am so angry with the streaming of this event yesterday.

As we know from bitter experience, YouTube has a 12 hour limit on the length of videos. And this was reached a minute into the Senior Ladies SP Group 1 Warm-Up. So, when the stream got archived, basically the whole segment was lost.

The really galling thing is that there was a 3 hour lunch break between the end of the Intermediate Novice Ladies FS and the start of the Advanced Novice Ladies SP. And during this break, the stream broadcast a black screen.

3 hours broadcasting a black screen?!

Could they not have ended the original stream at the start of the break, and then started up a new stream when the action resumed?!

If they had, we would not now be in the position of having no archived coverage of the Senior Ladies SP.
