2022 JGP Baltic Cup Women's Short Program

Oh interesting skater on ice!
I love this song of Destiny's child but not the cuts.
She obviously can't do much but it's good to have diversity.

Nice to see a Hijabi skater, we rarely get to see skaters from countries with a majority Muslim population (Yes, mostly because of the lack of ice rinks in warmer countries). Obviously, as Khairya trains in Kuwait, she has very little access to ice time, but she did the most with what she has.

Hey, I think her jumps were a bit better today, that's good. This program is very funky - And choreographed by Miki Ando, of all people.
That's not Miki's first choreo. I think she did a program for Nana Araki. Naausica. It wasn't bad.

Wow!!! That was a lot better than what I expected.

For somebody who has only been skating for 4 years, Khairya has made remarkable progress.

Oh. Something came off her costume, and she immediately skated over it, which gave her a wobble. And she got a deduction for it.

Oh, she looks so happy!

:cheer: WELL DONE KHAIRYA :cheer:

According to her ISU Bio, she does train in Nagoya. Unless you are saying that the skaters that still represent Japan are given preferential treatment when it comes to getting allocated ice time.

I loved this programme the first time I saw it, and I loved it again.

Time for our first Kuwaiti skater.

Yes, that's what i'm meaning.
Some Japanese skaters already have difficult access to rinks, i imagine it can be harder for someone who skates for another country.

Shame about the popped Lutz, her jumps are so huge and very technically good otherwise. 💔

On the one hand, that's not fair!!!

But, given what you say about everybody having difficulty getting ice time, I can see why the rinks might take this position.

Let's hope that more rinks get built to meet the demand!

morning everyone, missed me?

Always.

Your fellow countrywoman Giulia could have been doing with your fashion advice. Read what I wrote about her jumpsuiit:

The only problem is that it blends in with the ice when we are on the high-up camera. So, it looks like we have just a head and a pair of arms moving around the rink.

I know Hallowe'en is coming up, but it's never a good thing to see dismembered heads floating around.
