He has never liked my beloved, he was critical of her 'lack of facial expression' even when she was a junior on the JGP circuit

I'm pleased to report Kaori did far better in practice today and only had a step-out on a 3Lo in her runthru. (She also compared herself to a Ferrari, but that's neither here nor there)

well.. we know Ted is not reading GS... because he would improve his pronunciation...

I'm starting to get annoyed with Ted harping on facial expressions, especially since I don't remember him caring this much when it was the Canadian pair. In general I've noticed a lot of Canadian and American commentators seem to think big obvious facial movements are the height of emotion and it's like... not everyone has to be Marcel Marceau to express a feeling...

(and I say that as an American who has occasionally been bothered by an inappropriately stonefaced skater or dancer, but not every piece of music calls for a big grin or mimed anguish a la Medvedeva)

If figure skating is a sport, facial expression is not mandatory anyway... not sure why so many people are harping on this.. .On top of that, when at the rink, we barely see facial expression (unless sitting really in the first couple rows)...
