As for the situation with Prineva:
the magazine "Moscow Figure Skater" published an interview with one of the judges (it was taken in summer, as I understand).

In short, they use ISU program (ISU CalcFS) and it no longer receives updates because ISU began to use another program. Because of this, judges have to do things that used to be automatic (such as marking invalid elements). In addition, this program isn't designed for national competitions that have their own rules. From the next season, they plan to test their own program, at the moment it is ready for 25%.

The good thing about the JGP is I can just find the small handful skaters who are good to watch after it is over. It makes me sad to remember the JGP days of Sasha, Aliona and Anya. --and the second tier of Russians who also competed. Those were exciting competitions, must watch competitions, and even the non Russians were better back then. (Young You, Japanese girls, A few of the Americans etc.).

It's for an event called Moscow Swallows - I guess it's novices and pre-novices? Only girls as well.

It looks like the 1st Junior category is skating, not sure how that translates... but they're pretty good!

Found this gold mine channel filled with Russian replays. Its hard to follow along with some of these more obscure Russian events but he seems to have stuff sown. He has been posting the Moscow regional test skates, which I didn't get to watch and the schedule for which seemed illusive, so this helps. Still upset we didn't get to see any good footage from Petersburg, though.

There were no test skates as such in St. Petersburg, the judges traveled to sports clubs and checked the readiness for the season of athletes of that club. Obviously, they didn't even plan an event with spectators and broadcasting or anything like that. It's impossible to broadcast in this format unless you have the resources of Channel One. The first round of the St. Petersburg competition will also be held without spectators in the stadium, but hopefully there will be a video broadcast.

Gushchina was injured in the off-season. I guess she is recovering. Yes, she lives in Petersburg, she moved last season.

I remember last season they announced the national teams cup stage assignments pretty soon after test skates, will they do that this season as well or will we find out few days prior to the competition as we did with the remaining skaters last season?
