2023-24 Russian Local Events – Discussion

Japan Open is also not ISU competition but it had its own thread.

I think you could start something like "2023/24 GSA Interclub Competitions" in "Other International FS Events" forum
Thanks for the support! I actually thought about it, but had my doubts.

Glad to hear about this 😊 It's nice these kids can retrieve a bit of "normality" step by step
Any system tends toward the balance and in the case of a constraint tends to restore this balance... I have created a separate topic for interclub competitions, if you are interested. Let's see how it goes.

Despite this being more of a showcase than a competition, I've enjoyed that thoroughly. All my Klimov Teams and one Mozer unit mit Nina herself and Ramil behind the boards.
But I thought something was missing at the Klimov Trophy 🤔... oh yeah, the man himself!

Karina is still a bit wobbly. I very much hope this can be sorted out for their next GP outing. A/R haven't regained their self-confidence yet.
Nika and Danya were really good despite one mistake. They are very good performers.

As far as Julia and Ilya are concerned, that wasn't half bad considering it's their first season together. The FS suits them very well.
Onwards and upwards, Klimov Teams :hap10::love::love::love:

"Championship of the Surgut". Surgut is a small city in the Khanty-Mansiysk region. Most residents come here on shifts to produce oil, some live here permanently. Bears are often seen around the city.

A few years ago, like in many small towns and villages in the region, a children's ice school was opened here. Now local children have the opportunity to practice on the ice with professional coaches. The number of young athletes in the region is sufficient to hold competitions in every town.
I would like to introduce you to Ekaterina Chuvakina, the winner in the Candidate Master of Sports category, a young resident of Surgut. It was not the most successful skate, but she looks promising.

I remind you that this child has never left Surgut, he was taught to skate here.

Vika Streltsova 3A clean
the podium is Streltsova, Kostyleva, Sarnovskaya
Was able to back it up and watch Vika-it is weird how some young skaters can do a 3A like it is a 1A. It is a strange jump that seems so easy for a few, so difficult and impossible for others-even good jumpers like Kaori, Sasha who just can't get the timing or rhythm right. Vika's was beautiful and easy. Even with the mistakes, Kostyleva has that IT factor.

All-Russian competitions "Tyumen Meridian"
November 28 - 30, 2023

These events are being held in my hometown!
Very good line-up of juniors.
Young women: Elizaveta Labutina, Diana Milto, pupils of Plushenko.
Young men: Gleb Kovtun from Tyumen (silver at the RGP stage), Mikhail Tikhonov, Makar Solodnikov.

I also recommend to pay attention to Angelina Shuka and Ekaterina Chuvakina, 1 sport. category. These are very interesting girls from Surgut.

Gleb Kovtun won the junior competition, Mikhail Tikhonov was second and Ilya Komarov was third. Makar Solodnikov is in 4th place.

Elizaveta Labutina from Ekaterinburg won the juniors, Yulia Klevakina from the Sverdlovsk region was second, and Darya Kareva from Tyumen was third. Diano Milto was 5th in the sum of points.

Elizaveta Labutina made a 3A attempt in the free program, Diana Milto and Anastasia Utkina (Krasnodar Region) made a 4S attempt. All attempts ended in failure, but nevertheless.

Elements of the ultra-s that the juniors at FS have performed:
1st place (FS) - Mikhail Tikhonov: 4T+2T, 4Tq
2nd place (FS) - Makar Solodnikov: 3Aq
3rd place (FS) - Gleb Kovtun: 3A+2A+seq, 3A
4th place (FS) - Ilya Komarov: 3A

I have a feeling that we had a JGP stage in our city at the rink I go by....

Kudryavtsev Cup

Nice start for Sasha Kuznetsov, he needs a bit more work all around, but I already enjoy watching him.
