Sadly, Alina Gorbacheva confirmed the information that she had an injury 😔

What kind of injury is it?
Figure skater Alina Gorbacheva was injured during triple axel training.

This was reported by the coach of the athlete Sofia Fedchenko.
"There is an injury, Alina has to be examined in Moscow. She fell during training for the triple axel," - said Fedchenko.

UPD. Provisional diagnosed injury - thigh muscle strain.

UPD. "For now, doctors said that she would have a cast for three weeks," Fedchenko told "Match TV". 😔

Poor Alina:(

Do we have any new info or leaks on what's wrong with Anna? The radio silence is concerning, normally we would get some leaks from insiders?

I checked RIA insider's TG chat.

He says that she was in Novogorsk and was considering continuing her career. But she stopped training for medical reasons, 'as I understand it, not related to an injury'.

Lets discuss skaters/competitions that actually participate/take place.

My prediction for 2024 Russian senior/junior/novice champions: Akatieva/Bazyliuk/Kostyleva.

Way too early and there are too many other strong candidates. Especially for juniors. Zhilina, Dvoeglazova, Titova, Rubtsova, Maybe even Sadkova.

Way too early and people are entitled to discuss their wishes and hopes for the Russian women skaters and also their worries about injured skater etc. We're not breaking any rules and the censorship was very unnecessary.

I think Zhilina will be unstoppable in juniors I assume her components will improve this season as well. Her components are no worse as they are than Mao Shimada for instance, but the competition is higher in Russia. The power is so easy on her jumps I think she can be around with quads for a while.

In seniors, assuming Valieva can compete I'm going to go with her in the Russian championships. Only by a slender margin but for components she is on another level now. Last season to an extent they designed programs for the Olympics season Valieva which is the best skater the world will ever see. Last season the programs weren't Bolero level frenetic, but still very difficult. This exhibition performance last week gave a glimpse into the future. At the very least she will have the 4T+2A and 4T in her free skate. If she went for the 2A instead of the 3A last year in the short program she wins the tournament.

I think Akatieva will be coming off an injury and turning 16 will likely go through growth changes like Valieva experienced in the past year (although maybe not as severe). She did win the Russian championships after a severe injury last season, so I don't doubt her. Petrosian had an injury the past season. She will be larger as well, jumps might be a little more difficult. She had all the jumps at the end of last season though. She gets little height on her jumps as it is I don't think it would take much to throw her off and struggle.
