The sneak peak of Kamila's short program looks interesting. She wanted something modern and got it.

It sure is ironic how Shcherbakova got what she wanted, Trusova didn't get what she wanted (a gold) but an Olympic silver is incredible considering she never won anything at senior level. They both seem somewhat broken sadly. The motivation is completely gone. A shell of their former selves. I don't think either will compete this season that will be two years retired.

Kamila only had to turn up at the Olympics and two golds were hers, but she has nothing to show for it. Could be an additional punishment later on. It's possibly the most heartbreaking story in sports history. She should be recognised as the best ever, and with every achievement imaginable, but whatever is ruled it will end in disgrace. People in particular parts of the world will never let her forget that somehow her achievements are diminished.

You just need to take one look at that new video and know she's in this for the long haul, motivation is higher than it's ever been, yes she won't be that Bolero skater again as an adult sized skater but in general she's improved on an already high level. Trusova at 17 jumped 5 quads but nothing about it was sustainable, but this version of Valieva can skate and win titles at 27 not just 17.

I don't know how she does it. It seems to be just an incredible passion for figure skating and trying to maximise her potential, total love for the process of putting together a program. Admirable stuff from a 17 year old who should be psychologically destroyed from what she has been through for 18 months.

Kami has incredible resiliency, besides extraordinary talent. She knows she unfortunately can't change the past and whatever unfair outcome fron the 2022 situation, but she can continue to do her best for herself, her country and for all of us who really appreciate her.

Oh yes, it's obvious who and where they are. Jealousy can be so destructive, but again, their hate is towards an extremely strong person, not only fantastic at her skill, but given her behaviour handling the whole 2022 situation, also incredibly resilient and strong minded.

It seems like the perfect combination. No skater has had the combination in terms of components and technical elements, but more importantly has an unrelenting incredible work ethic, maintains a positive outlook despite the most horrific circumstances to ever confront a child athlete, and the most important one in any endeavour, not afraid to fall on her face and fail or hurt her reputation. I think she'll accept silver and bronzes for the next 9 years if in 10 years time she wins a gold. Other athletes at such a high level might see repeated silver or bronze or worse as some kind of humiliation. I think she know however that what she has is a once in a lifetime combination of talent and the scores might not always reflect the level of talent because there will be a younger girl, smaller who can execute the high scoring content. Still she has the best 4T in the world and the 3A is achievable. If she is able to execute the 3A consistently it is game over for everyone else. There is no point in turning up if they want gold if she's landing a 3A like her 4T.

I don't understand the hate directed her way, the snide remarks. She's maintained complete dignity throughout this process, only enhanced her already high reputation. I'm not sure how someone her age does it, but in addition to being the best skater the world has seen there is a strong intelligence and wisdom.

Seems like Samo will be transferring to Kazakhstan, it's a very smart move from her as now she no longer has to worry about the ultra c elements. She is a great skater but with no ultra c ban or no ban her chances were always going to be limited in Russia.

I hope this happens for her. She is so down to earth and funny, would love to see her compete this year (Or does she have to sit out a year?) I think she will get an ultra c back, and she is better than most of the non Russians. Tarasova is onboard and that should help.

It was an expected move, but I think the problem is not the limitations of the Rusfed and the quads (Sofia owns the quads and trixel), but her current fitness and psychology. If she can correct that, there will be successes. If not, it will be the same as at the Russian Championships.

She did look to be in good shape last season its only the quads that were an issue, I dont know how she was doing mentally tho.

Her quads and 3A were always a question mark when we used to discuss her and Sofia A rivalry and possibly senior careers during their novice and junior year. They never looked sustainable with how tiny they were. She is a very fast and efficient rotator but even during her junior years she used to under-rotate her quads regularly and obviously she grew a lot before and during her 1st senior season which coupled with the leg injury made her pretty much loose her ultra c jumps. Now as she continues to grow and her rotation speed gets slower, rotating and landing her ultra c jumps will become even harder.

I wonder what will happen.
Rusfed against the transition.
Moreover, this is her personal initiative. What else will Kazakhstan say about compensation.

I think, Sofia have some kind of agreements with the federation of Kazakhstan, otherwise the idea has no sense at all - why go where you were not called.
