Very nice program and you're too young to lose your 3-3, Veronika. šŸ˜‰(y)
I know. I’m really hoping Veronika and Ksenia hold on in Russian Skating. They need every jump.

What I hate about Russian Ladies skating, is that there is no room for skaters like Veronika/Kseniia to move up the standings. It is obvious to many, that they have superior skating skills in comparison to Elizaveta and Trusova. Last year, I had to watch Trusova be placed over Veronika, despite a lower TES, with higher PCS scores due to reputation, at one of their ā€œGPā€ events. Also, kind of hard for these two skaters to surpass Elizaveta when that woman is being scored 77 in PCS…. Close to max of 80, when it is clear these two skate are faster with better skating skills. I wish the Russian federation was fairer and more closely resembled the international panel in terms of scrutiny and fairness.

Yes Russian scoring is notoriously bias. Too many examples to even begin listing them off.

Liza performed new program in Averbukh's show.

She had previously said that her short program would be La Cumparsita. But it looks like she changed her mind, because this new one looks like a short program.

The program is choreographed by Ilya Averbukh and Artem Fedorchenko.

Does anyone have the complete list of the "regions" in Russian figure skating (e.g. Moscow, Moscow Region, St. Petersburg, Sverdlovsk, Tatarstan, etc.)?

Thanks for the video ... I really like this skater, but I miss her old hair color a lot, blonde does not suit her. I also must admit that didn't enjoy the music of this program ... wish she had perfected instead her "freedom" one , which she showed at the start of last year's season, it was much more energetic and upbeat.

I didn't quite understand the question. There is figure skating in every region of Russia, but it is not successful everywhere. There are competitions in every region.
Here you can see a list of regional federations, on the website of each of them there is a calendar with the name of the competitions. Almost always you can watch the broadcast, but vkontakte is preferred to youtube.

Thank you! I had no idea there were so many regions.

Are there "parent" regions that these regions group into, e.g. for purposes of competitions determining who gets sent to events like novice nationals? (That is, I know Moscow and SPB sends its own girls, but how does it work for the other regions? Are they grouped together into "parent" regions that each send a certain number of skaters?)

For example, the post that @Mariott linked to has links to Chelyabinsk, Ekaterinburg, Krasnoyarsk, Moscow Region, Nizhny Novgorod, Perm, and Tyumen. Do the regions in the PDF you shared group into these regions?

The FS federations of the subjects of Russia are grouped into 7 regions on a territorial basis (1) Moscow, 2) Saint Petersburg, 3) Sevastopol, 4) Siberia and Far East, 5) Ural and Volga regions, 6) Central 7) North Causasian, Southern and Northwestern). In each of them there is a qualifying competition for novice nationals.

Igor Bich, the chief judge of the St. Petersburg team's control skates, said that Ksenia Gushchina was not performing at full strength because she was recovering from an injury. Good health and fast recovery to Ksenia!

Yametova and Sadkova have withdrawn from test skates.

Veronika got a leg injury due to collision in training. She returned to training two days ago.

Daria isn't training due to a foot injury.

This is like the third time in 2 years a Russian lady has been taken out of an event due to get injured in practice for a collision.

wth, I just noticed that the ice age youtube channel has been terminated...there were so many amazing programs that came from the show too :frown: does anyone have a link to a different site with the videos? (specifically, the ones from ice age kids)
