2023 JGP Istanbul: General Info

2023 JGP Istanbul (Bosphorus Cup) is the third of seven of the 2023-24 Junior Grand Prix series and will take place Sep. 6-9, 2023, in Istanbul, Turkey, at the Zeytinburnu Sport Complex. The ISU Junior Grand Prix of Figure Skating Series consists of seven international junior invitational events during the fall culminating with the 2023-24 ISU Junior Grand Prix of Figure Skating Final in December 2023.

This event will feature all four disciplines: the Singles (Men and Women), Pair and Ice Dance disciplines, and will be conducted in accordance with the 2022 ISU Constitution and General Regulations, the ISU Special Regulations & Technical Rules for Single & Pair Skating, the Technical Rules for Ice Dance 2023/24 (ISU Communication 2560) and relevant ISU Communications.

(I take it that the two skaters representing Hungary are brothers, as they are both originally from Tiumen).

Whoever is behind the microphone will be grateful that the first and third skaters in that table are alternates.

This week, it is Aleksei's turn to be selected, with the other two as alternates. But, his brother drops to the bottom of the Hungarian list, so it is not as dramatic looking as it was last week.

So, Angelina and Ilia are doing back-to-back Junior GP's. And I have another kid competing too, but I haven't finished her Fan Fest thread yet.

And good to see one of my fellow islanders there too!

probably not late, knowing JGP you could probably walk in because there are normally not that many tickets sold (well except for Thailand with a full 3-4 rows of people)

Thank you for the reply. Yes, I think it will be like you said, because I called the organizer and they said they will make an announcement on social media about whether there will be ticket sale or not, it has not been decided yet.

Ava KEMP / Yohnatan ELIZAROV CAN were withdrawn and not replaced.

Olivia FLORES / Luke WANG USA are in for a second event. Naomi WILLIAMS / Lachlan LEWER are out.

For Turkey, Efe Ergin DINCER is withdrawn and Ege ALACAN is in.

The organizer made an announcement on their Instagram account. They say participation is free. So, there is no ticket sale.

I think I will have the time to watch the ladies short before heading down to Stead NV for a couple of weeks. I wonder how long the videos will stay up on the ISU website? Long after I am gone, people will just get onto their computers, click on events they want to download, and watch them at their leasure....sigh...
