I think some of that is down to age & personality, of course.
Often, for younger skaters, every competition is a big deal, even if it's "just" commercial, while older skaters sometimes have a bit more of a relaxed attitude (like Liza at past Jumping tournaments for example). That doesn't mean they don't still want to show themselves from their best side, but they don't take it so personally when things aren't perfect.
