2024-25 Canadian Figure Skating

Is there any update on Kent/Laurent and their whereabouts?
Martina Ariano Kent is entered for Quebec sectionals in singles, so she'll be competing that in addition to pairs.

They posted Instagram stories today of practicing their jumps together, so they're training together again.

That's good. :)

More Manitoba skating news:

They also mention David Howes:

And Kemp/Elizarov as well:
It’s impressive to say the least somehow Manitoba going virtually decades with out anyone notable have these great skaters. Regarding Ava’s injury, it was a broken leg or ankle or something to that effect. I was at the rink when Yoni was practising his singles when they were home and he told me lol. I’m not sure if there was anything after that though

Kaiya's training at TCCC on her instagram post. Anyone knows it is for summer training or switching club?
She hasn't changed her coaches on her ISU bio or National Team page. The news release for Denis Ten Memorial will have which coach will be with her there. She could be in Ontario to work with Jeff Langdon, her other coach, as well.

News release for the October Challengers:

Kaiya will have Paige Aistrop as a coach, who is a spin specialist with the Cricket Club.

Also they don't list Lajoie/Lagha for Budapest Trophy . They're still on the entries list, but that has me worried.

Edit: they're removed from the Events page :(. I hope this isn't another error caused by correcting the assignments to add Fabbri/Ayer back to Denis Ten Memorial.

It was confirmed by Robert Brodie in an update to his interview with them that they withdrew from Budapest Trophy:

(UPDATE; Lajoie and Lagha have withdrawn from Budapest Trophy due to an undisclosed injury issue. They are expected to be ready to compete at Skate Canada International).

Oh no, not good news for LaLa. With the way the USA skaters are are being marked so far this year I am worried they will get passed by a couple USA Dance Teams.

Good that the administrative proceeding arrived at a decision relatively quickly.
I hope his victim is able to find the peace and healing she has been denied up until now. ❤️‍🩹
It must have been incredibly hard for her to see him become so successful and be so very popular knowing what he had done to her, especially considering how skaters and coaches continued sticking with him even after she came forward.

Story from TSN, it has information from Skate Canada:

Skate Canada, the nation's governing body of figure skating and a signatory to Abuse-Free Sport, said in a statement it "has been made aware of the decision from Abuse-Free Sport in this matter and is taking the necessary action to comply with it.

"The ban will be issued by Skate Canada."

Being Canada's second team and top five in the world, I doubt they will have a set back... Don't forget they were not able to compete for the longest time before showing up for worlds and making quite the statement there

So Nikolaj Sorensen is now banned? If so, it is good that things have been fairly swift.

I do feel a little bit sorry for Fournier Beaudry, though. Her career is probably over as well now, as a result of something she was not responsible for, and to some people she will probably be tarnished simply through her association with him.

Have to wonder what would have been the case had they been skating for the USA.
Do you think there would have been more of a punishment there, or less? I have the impression that the USA tends to be slower with these things, but that's just an impression.

Are they already in China? Cause that would just be money wasted for Skate Canada and we all know the funds are limited.. saying this as they probably knew a decision was imminent... Anyways..
