2024-25 Canadian Figure Skating

... you are correct... very not surprising... well, Brooke is taller so she'd need one of those giant maples. If she is looking to find someone as tall as Mimar or Zandron, I cannot think of anyone right now in Canada who is also looking... Bryan is way too short. Thierry, if not already retired, is even shorter.
She maybe needs to do what Hase did for Germany and find a tall Russian to import.

Things really didn't seem to be working with Zandron. Their best score wasn't that far above the Euros minimum and they were a long way off that needed for Worlds. They had both scored 180+ with previous partners (although Brooke's final season with Ben was low scoring). I know that it takes time for pairs to gel, but you do normally see gradual progress and I wasn't with them. I hope they can both find new partners.

Brooke needs to skate for Canada ;) her entire family (minus the dad) are Canadian olympians... it's weird in my mind that with such strong roots, she would switch to another country.

Canada has tall skaters... but they are taken or retired :) or silly for them, doing singles :)

I'd already pondered your tall singles men. I don't think any of them currently have the upper body strength needed for pairs. Yes, they could develop it with training, but that takes time which Brooke doesn't really have. Etienne Lacasse has the strength (and I think he is senior eligible?), but I don't think he's tall enough.

Etienne is too short. he is shorter than I am so no. :)

In Québec, one of the taller skater with upper body strength is Vladimir Furman... but I don't know if he is tall enough.
Is Christophe Roch still skating after the split with Brooke or is he retired ? He is 20, and a bit taller 182cms but far far away from Mimar or Zandron. Maybe Zach Daleman but at this point, he is probably retired. He is only 24 though.

Maybe one of those tall singles men could be persuaded to switch to pairs and partner her? Just fantasizing, of course, but the switch is working for Fiona. Worked for Lia, and quite a few other women singles in other countries. With some work on the upper body-building for one of our tall, lanky men, maybe he'd also find greater success there.............

Zach would be great.

The switch was working for Nic Nadeau too... not just for women ;) He didn't have to bulk up too much as he was already quite strong.

Get William StLouis to unretire!

No... they were looking so promising... They had made really good progress this season.
Same with Etienne and Noémie... so close to the podium... And they were going for bigger elements too. I don't know what to make of all of these young pairs split in Québec... still not over the Beau Callahan one.

Maybe so but ya gotta get your name out first by showing some success as a.competition skater
Anthony unfortunately will be loss ifhe can't do some decent tech. Even Jason Brown Johnny Weir had harder tech as did Patrick Chan who really maybe shouldn't be questioned for tech ability. What does it say when Cnada's second best man senior or juunior is 14th in juniors withotu a 3A. So sad.

Anthony didn't place lower because he doesn't have a 3a.
Anthony lost about 6 points on TES because he popped his flip (Jump + bonus+GOE)

If he had landed that jump he would be close to the final flight.

Anthony had the 4th highest PCS, despite a major mistake.

I didn't go further into looking at how much he got for non jump elements but I invite you to do just that, so you can appreciate what you seem to miss with Anthony's skating. He is an all-around skater. Not a jumping bean. Some of us appreciate his unique talent, and as my granny used to say, if you got nothing nice to say, maybe it's not really necessary to open your mouth. It gets heavy and moreover, it's very unfair to the young athletes who give it their all.

I have no idea why you even mention Patrick Chan in there but since you brought him up... Patrick didn't have quads until 2010-11 season, when he was 20-21 years old. Even his triple axel came a bit later (2008 I believe)... So, you know, if Anthony were to follow in Patrick's footstep, at 18, he is not even much behind.
