I will be attending the evening show in Tokyo on February 24th (though I may also want to attend the morning show on the 23rd or 24th depending on fan program reports). This will be my first time seeing a Japanese ice show and I'm looking forward to it! If anyone else here is attending, please me know, I'd love to meet up sometime. :)

I would correct this a bit, the Main Cast would be the Prince Ice World Ensemble (yes, they are the main stars here!) while the rest of the guest skaters are different for Nagasaki and Tokyo. Tokyo is unlikely to have Rio Nakata as a guest, considering the proximity of the Tokyo shows to the World Junior Championship (but you never know, Rio's home rink is in Chiba after all).

Enjoy!!! I had a really great time at Tokyo this year for PIW <3 Unfortunately won't be going to any of the shows next year since I have a personal thing to do, but looking forward to get back on it after 2026 Olys and Worlds!

I know, that's the whole concept, which I love because it puts a spotlight on pro skaters that don't have as much name recognition as the guests (many of them are important pillars of other shows too like Hyoen, One Piece on Ice or Ice Explosion; Kiki also lends a major helping hand in the production of Kassouya)! I considered listing the current PIW ensemble members by name, but since they are so many (26) I decided against it.

Rio was announced last for Nagasaki, so I added him at the end of the cast list (which up to that point was the same for both locations). I have now put an addendum next to his name. :)

No worries and thank you for correcting.

Are they using the usual configuration of Happiness Arena in Nagasaki?

Here's the PIW seating plan:

And here is the floor map of the arena on the Nagasaki Stadium City website:

Looks like they're using the basketball configuration without the seats on the west side (north in the PIW seating plan).

Interesting. They have all standard tickets (non-student tickets) sold out for the first 3 performances so I assume that's plenty of tickets sold.

The maximum capacity is 6000 seats - I would estimate that in the PIW configuration there are perhaps 3500-4000 seats available.

PIW (especially the current Broadway tour) continues to prove quite popular with audiences. Dai was also "sent" on an extensive PR tour of Nagasaki on behalf of PIW last July, during which he visited the prefectural office, guested on several local TV and radio shows and was given a tour of the Happiness Arena before its official opening (which was filmed for local TV), which probably helped to raise awareness of the show being held there and perhaps convinced a number of locals to buy tickets. :)

They're good at finding opportunities like this, with new venues. They sold 16.500 tickets at Saga before anyone did any ice shows there, with the first Broadway tour (this one is the second one with different musicals).

Miki Ando did the PR tour for Saga if I remember correctly.

Yesterday an article was published about the progress of the ice preparation in the Happiness Arena:

Machine translation:

Nagasaki's first ice show ‘under the rink’, where Daisuke Takahashi, Shizuka Arakawa and others will dance, has a secret! Work progresses on the ice rink to put on ice.
TV Nagasaki
16 Jan 2025, Thursday, 9:17pm
On 18 and 19 January, Nagasaki's first ice show will be held, featuring Daisuke Takahashi, Shizuka Arakawa and others. The venue is an arena where the B1 basketball league and other events are usually held. Preparations are steadily underway for an ice rink to be covered with ice.
The basketball arena becomes an ice paradise! The ice show ‘Prince Ice World’ will be held at the Happiness Arena in Nagasaki Stadium City.
The arena is home to Nagasaki Verka, a basketball team in the B1 League, and hosts a wide variety of sports and events, such as the ‘Nijyusai no Tsudoi’ on the 12th.
The arena is cool as the ice rink is being installed. The installation of the ice rink began on 13 January, and when I went inside on 15 January for an interview... it was cool from the moment I entered. The rink is approximately 1,000 square metres in size.
The ice on the rink is made by watering it once an hour, 24 hours a day.
Why does the sprinkled water freeze? The secret lies in the long, thin ‘pipes’ that run under the ice. A special liquid, chilled to 10 degrees below zero, is circulated through the pipes, and the ice is formed by sprinkling water on top of it.
The person in charge of design and construction said: ‘We have to aim for the best ice for the skaters to skate on. We want the skaters to skate freely and beautifully, and we want everyone to be happy when they see it.
The ice thickness on this day was 5cm and the process of making the ice a little thicker and adjusting the surface temperature will be repeated until the event itself.
The Prince Ice World ice show will be held for two days from 18 January. Top skaters representing the world, including Daisuke Takahashi, Shoma Uno and Shizuka Arakawa, will perform.
Daisuke Takahashi says: ‘I know many of you are watching skating for the first time, but the speed and power of watching it live is a special experience that you can't experience on TV. I hope you will come to the venue’.
Mr Takahashi also assures that this year's performance will include rock-inspired numbers based on the theme of Broadway musicals, which is sure to be a lot of fun.
There will be a total of four performances over the two days, with a few seats available for the second performance on the 19th.
