Caroline Kravets/Aiden Dotzert are a new ice dance team for Canada.

This also means Nicole Bolender/Aiden Dotzert (CAN) split.

Aiden was on IPS the same time as Caroline. I guess that maybe they couldn’t find a proper match and since they are at the same club, they decided to partner. They would only have one year junior because of his age though.

Isn’t NextGen comp in Quebec? Because I noticed NextGen brother/sister Quebec team who got a JGP last season and Axel/Charlotte (NextGen last year) are on this entry list.

NextGen is a week after Skate Ontario and is in Gatineau.
Yeah I know. I’m just wondering why 2 existing NextGen dance teams are part of the Ontario comp list instead of the other one. Especially the brother/sister since they were given Bangkok last season.

I don't think the NextGen entries have been announced yet, so they could be in it. It's a way to get an extra competition in before it, so why not compete there first if the time/location permits? The number of JGP spots hasn't been released yet, plus there's teams who are eligible now for those spots that weren't until after Congress. A competition could help make the difference between getting a spot or not.

It appears that American Pairs skater, Daniil Siianytsia, may have found a new partner, via his Instagram story. Because of it being shared as a story, it will go away by sometime tomorrow. So if anyone could not see it, he is doing drills off the ice and practicing a lift on the ice with Canadian skater, Meghan Fredette.

Trudy Oltmanns posted a reel of them, also announcing their programs. She included the American flag, so that looks to be the country they're representing.

wow... Fredette used to skate with William St-Louis, a long time ago.. I think he is the tallest figure skater I have ever seen... I wonder how tall is Danil...and how that's going to work out for her.

Re the country : they are not on the Quebec funding (Joy and Thierry are) ... so yeah.. looks for sure like USA

Siianytsia is listed 5'9, while St-Louis was around 6'6! 🤯 Danil is quite shorter, but he is a beast. The content of him working out says it all.

They are working alongside all together now. That will bring quality. Seen their last IG story? Jumping and landing just like three cute little flying squirels :)
Were Zilkova/Becerra at the ISU Pair Skating Seminar in Berlin back in April? There was one pair in Group 4 that I haven't been able to identify, was wondering if it was them.

I will be thinking of the Czech teams as the Flying Squirrels now!

yeah.. the lifts look good already... it may come to the twist and throws... the jumps should work out better for them.

Jumps were her weak point with her former partner, but she's had a lot of time to work on them since then. They look decent in the video he posted, and the throw jump does too.

The twist is a bit on the smaller side, but I've also seen way worse 😅 At least they seem to be capable of doing triple twists and throws in training, which is more than some other pairs were able to do after such a short time together. If it will work out in competition, and how they'll develop is of course still written in the stars

yeah.. i thought things were small... but of course, better do small throws and twists at first... and then see if there is room to grow. Gotta be safe when starting.

Frida Berge (NOR) announced her retirement today. Not totally unexpected since she declined the spot at the National team a couple of weeks ago due to studying in Hong Kong the next year, but it was unclear if she would just have a break or actually retire. She says she still loves the sport and that she won´t put the skates entirely away, sounds like a comeback is not out of the question or that she will aim for coaching later.

Judging by the comments, she will be missed a lot being a good role model for the rest of the team.
