2024-25 Russian Grand Prix - Stage 2 - Kazan

Knyazhuk accidentaly cut Khabibullina's leg during a morning training. She had to get stitches. They won't compete today.

:(
How unfortunate for them, hopefully, she heals well ❤️ Still hard to stomach that there will be only two Senior pairs competing here, and last week there were also only 4... The standard is still high, don't get me wrong, but the field is so much smaller.

Loads of pairs injured this season and no new pairs coming up from juniors isnt helping at all.

Just a very unfortunate season.

But I expect next season to be fine because of multiple junior girls becoming age-eligible.

Probably even nationals will be fine, Chikmareva is already doing triples.

Throw in a few splits and retirements, and not a lot of new pairs forming and you get a quite depleted field indeed.

The Junior pairs field on the other hand is doing great, so I don't think this will be a permanent situation, but it still gives me a weird feeling. 🙈

Ah Dasha, poor girl :console: The pop was almost expected after she did the rest cleanly, unfortunately, she really needs a mental coach (look at how Amber Glenn has turned around her skating this season after working intensively with a psychologist and mental coach during the off-season).

What's that at the side of her neck? 🤔
