I think it's a pressure thing for Muraviova. She has lost the 3A and she can see medals slipping away from her. When she had the 3A last year didn't take advantage of it. She should have won the Moscow GP but gave up gold and silver to Valieva who was going through all kinds of trauma at the time and Yametova.

The Muravieva who was competing at that GP didn't have her 3A back fully. She even said afterward that she was told to not go for any 3A in the Free and she didn't listen and went for two (Does that remind you of someone else?). She lost to Veronika because of the Zayak rule (second 3Lz was invalid), which more skaters should really know better about, and honestly, the less I say about Kamila's scores, the better.

I usually have to 1v9 on Mura's behalf against this Mura hating forum but nah 2 weeks ago she was crying in the interview too even after the clean SP and before the FS. The girl is for real struggling mentally right now not sure why.

Could you link me to that interview, because all of the clips (including interviews) I saw from two weeks ago, she looked composed, even if not happy.

Even if you watch Lena in the juniors she's always wound up and on edge emotionally.

I don't like Plushenko, and clearly something happened that changed the situation at AoP (Mura doesn't train in Mikhailov's group anymore for example, who always seemed better at calming her nerves than Plushenko), but that was Lena althroughout her career so far. People were already concerned about it last season, when she was training under Igor Lyutikov.

She didnt really "waste" last season she came 2nd at the only event that mattered and Petrosian is unbeatable.

I wouldnt say she lost the 3A yet but I am concerned for sure. Last year I wasnt concerned when everyone else was and she proved me right but this time its quite frightening. She likes to peak for late season but even still she only has a month to jump 3 3As. She needs to get it together for real.

That's true it was only the Moscow where she had the big melt down in the free skate, she achieved the maximum result at the Kazan stage and championships, then withdrew from the GP final anyway.

But why are his other skaters fine? Who is supposed to help her? Eteri would send this girl into the looney bin on day one she cant handle that camp. Smirnova? Doubt it'd be any different. AOP seems to be doing better than her. I think its a personal issue.

Where did she look composed? You mentioned an FS but she didnt get an FS interview cause she didnt podium. She got 2nd in SP with no falls. In the interview she held it together for like the first 30 seconds but before the first minute she starts shaking and holding back tears already. Then she got it back together then almost cried again. I didnt watch the rest. Thats in like the first 2mins. She said shes not too sad but she must be crying for some reason maybe its pure nerves but thats the point anyways. Here is the link if you have TG not sure where else you could find it:

You say we cant expect an athlete to be perfect and thats totally true. But we can compare Mura in the past to her now and see a clear difference. Whatever it is, and however easy itll be for her to overcome (hopefully easy), I dont know, but theres something. Like I said people always dog her and I'm 1v9 but I am concerned this time I hope she proves me wrong though maybe tomorrow she will set the arena on fire and I'll have no issue conceding this argument.

Oh female seniors, no idea. His juniors are good though. I suppose Smirnova is an interesting bet I forgot she trains Gorbacheva as well. Oh theres Sokolovskaya also. Jumping Bean brings an interesting point about Mikhailov, I didnt know they switched. I noticed they were always close and he did great work with her; if she just made that switch this season thats highly notable.

I doubt Mura will leave AOP though too much personal connection who knows when it comes to pro sports though.

Petrosian who will be 18 next season I cannot fathom losing form, Akatieva seems on the road to recovery will be 18 next season, Valieva who was for all intents an adult woman last season at 17.5 and during a traumatic period maintained great form in her short program, was able to land her 4T 50% of the time in training but clearly wasn't as invested as previous seasons (understandable I probably would not make it out of bed carrying the burden she carried for nearly two years). Still she has every intention of returning at age 19 and in her shows has shown great form.

Eteri might soon have the title of best coach of adult women in the world. Thoughts?

There was a short interview of some kind (with Alina for her blog maybe? I'm not sure) though I guess at that point some time had passed since the skate. I also meant her general demeanor in the K&C, she usually is not good at keeping it in until the press conference.

Two weeks ago, I wouldn't be very surprised if she cried out of relief (which she also seems to be prone to doing, didn't she also cry at RusNats after winning silver?), even after the Free you could visibly see her looking pretty okay with her scores after they were announced (not satisfied but also not upset, just neutral and a bit relieved).
