2024-25 Russian Grand Prix - Stage 5 - Saint Petersburg

Watched all of it now. M/U were so confident and flying across the ice. I'm comparing this in my head to when they had that Britney Spears RD a couple of years ago... it's a completely different couple, world class.

Tbh they probably should be above KhudaBazin.

The only real problem for this couple is the poor twizzles.

I remember Britney Spears RD. I noted them at that nationals.

Smirnova is Viktoria Morozova's coach, she has no seniors.
Man I cant keep up with all these trainers. Fedchenko or Moiseeva or something. Theres some group thats doing well.

There was a short interview of some kind (with Alina for her blog maybe? I'm not sure) though I guess at that point some time had passed since the skate. I also meant her general demeanor in the K&C, she usually is not good at keeping it in until the press conference.

Two weeks ago, I wouldn't be very surprised if she cried out of relief (which she also seems to be prone to doing, didn't she also cry at RusNats after winning silver?), even after the Free you could visibly see her looking pretty okay with her scores after they were announced (not satisfied but also not upset, just neutral and a bit relieved).

I'm sure Mura would've been fine in Alina vlog. Thats my point is performance triggers her anxiety. I didnt watch the FS live so didnt see her K&K for FS. Again today she was melting down in the K&K. And breaking down in the SP interview is strange. Anyways if you think shes fine hopefully you're right like I said if she humbles me today I'll be glad but I'm surprised you dont see a difference with her this season.

Haha Mura hijacked the interviews and decided to give one despite getting 4th

@AlexBreeze When has this happened before? Personally I've never seen it.

Interviews (not just small comments) are normally never given between SP and FS.
I consider the mixed zone an interview. I'm talking about that specifically. They do it for top 3 as you know after both programs. Mura went up to the mixed zone and gave one despite being 4th, and they added her in the official mixed zone interviews. Never seen that before.

Ok, let's go!

Spots at Nationals is up for grabs. Right now it seems that Anisimova, Fursova, and Paramonova are through.
But anything can still happen. Fedyanina, Bityushkova and Ovchinnikova still has the chance, but they need to have good skates.

Bityushkova has more points than Anisimova btw

Its top 3 every single time. This is the first time ever this has ever happened from what I know.
The Federation publishes top 3 but it doesn't mean there are only top 3 skaters in the mixed zone. At the previous stages the skaters went to the mixed zone before their discipline was over. It means that the journalists couldn't know the podium.

My point: I have never seen the fed upload an interview with non-top 3. They have never uploaded more than 3 interviews from one event in general. Genuinely not sure what you're arguing...

I don't know if she's fine, but I also can't say if she's not fine based on the fact that she's crying based on her history of crying even if she did well.
We already had a whole discussion about it last season I'm pretty sure, where I talked about how I can relate to Sofia a lot because my brain is just wired in a way where I cry about every big emotion I'm feeling - Sadness, happiness, relief, anger, ... Hell, I've probably cried over more books and movies than I could count.

This is what you wrote after the SP at the Moscow GP stage about Sofia back then (She was in 2nd, despite falling on the 3A):
"Nevermind you were right she started crying later in a different interview. She was crying the whole time for like 3 minutes. She wasnt even upset over anything specific she was just insanely overwhelmed with nerves. One of the most nervous athletes I've ever seen in my life. She wasnt even really answering questions she kind of would just start mumbling fragments of sentences about random stuff. 🤣 I respect it though because most athletes will take something for nerves before competition but clearly she just wants it to be all her."

NIghtmare skate for Fedyanina.
So that means that Bityushkova is the one to beat. Should be no problem for the remaining skaters.
