Can't watch anything live today. Tuesday's the worst day at work for me. Looking forward to re-watch Klimov Teams and the gorgeous master. And of course Dobromir in Moscow!

Vika, Alisa and Katya did so well!

Katya looks to be finding consistency finally! The younger age novice nats qualifications are about to be bloodbath in 1st sport category for the girls. Especially if some skater manage to heal and restore their form in time.

Definitely. Adn when some of them like Vika will go to juniors next season that will be something.

Masha G. landed her two quads, but in my opinion basically every jump should be under review (even if I don't trust the tech panel to actually call things) and the popped jump didn't help either, unfortunately. She's lovely, certainly, but this technique isn't helping her any.

I dont get why they insist on the quads when she is struggling with triples  but happy she is landing the quads again tho they did not look rotated to me

Because underrotated quads are still worth more than underrotated triples.
3F and 3Lz are not reliable jumps for her, not only is she not rotating them a lot of the time, she's also no longer landing them consistently. Basically, she'd fall behind even more if she gave up on the quads, because she'd have to rely more on her just as bad, maybe even worse triples.
Only option would be to completely rework her technique and put more training time into strength training (particularly focused on rapid strength and jump height), but that's not going to happen under Davydov. All of his current and former skaters had the same issue under him (many of them never managed to overcome it after going through puberty).

At least Masha M. looked much better here - Didn't see too many obvious rotation issues this time, and she landed the 4S again, seems like it is working better than the 4T at the moment. Shame about the pop, if she can stop doing that she has decent chances of making it to Novice Nats or Spartakiad and maybe the national team in the end.

The rotation calls here are making me laugh - But oh well, guess if you call basically nothing for nobody then it's only unfair to those who actually have clean jumps.

The likelihood of those quads actually lasting much longer is very low, shame cause Masha is such a pleasurable skater to watch but without a lutz and a flip I down see her sticking around much longer. The only reason she managed to even make it to JGP this season is due to the new rule that all skaters who attended jr test skates would get a spot and she did even tho she wasn't on any national team.

I dont think she wants to leave Davydov even tho at this point something needs to change.

Masha G didnt get as many URs as I thought she would, there were definetly more than just 1. I thought the quads would get called but I guess not.
