I've already posted it in Russian Ice Shows thread but I think more people would like to see this. Sofia had a truly stunning exhibition to Tout l’Univers.
The knee slide at the end is beautiful! What a lovely spin to follow as well it was very expressive and intelligent.

This year, I agree. Next year? Assuming everyone stays healthy and uninjured-I expect Adelia will have very stiff competition from both Alisa and Daria. I actually thought this week, Alisa was better-her jumps had a beautiful lightness, and she has more honest connection to the music. Daria also has light, beautiful jumps, and she seems to float over the ice seamlessly. Adelia tends to 'muscle' her jumps and skating-owing I think to her diminutive size, it always seems like she has had to pump twice as hard to move down the rink, even as a Junior.
You still havent explained how she is closing the gap. Light jumps are not closing the gap (assuming she even has better jumps than Petrosian - to minor a point to argue). She can get +5s and the gap is still wide open. You need more - is she going to learn a triple axel? Is she going to jumps 2 lutzez? Actually, she needs both of those. Maybe she can, but just say that, if you believe so; however the data doesnt support. Furthermore then would it be fair to assume Dvoeglazova improves and Petrosian doesnt, when Dvoeglazova has only tied her last season's best, but Petrosian already exceeded her's? Last season you all said Petrosian is finished, and she is stomping her last year's performances. Is there a reason we are giving Dvoeglazova fantasy scenarios but not Petrosian? Is that fair? Is there data supporting that disposition? Really, not a rhetorical question, I wonder why we are taking these presuppositions. You can hope Dvoeglazova becomes that girl, but you have zero data supporting it, at least you havent showed it. And, is Daria also learning a triple axel? Or what? And what else? Thats like a 30 point gap. Come on. By the way, why are we considering these two girls and not Akateva, who has a way higher chance of relearning the axel, and has way higher PCS? Again not a rhetorical question, genuinely wondering the answer. If Akateva just regains a 3A, she is borderline equal with Petrosian. She has one minor hurdle and the other girls have like 5. I just havent seen any reasoning at all. To say Dvoeglazova has better music connection, no offence but now I dont believe you are being honest. Like you dont believe that. I cant even make an argument against that. I think you are just saying whatever to save the point. Some users will say such things when they dislike a skater, like Adeliia, and want to bring her down; I dont think you are one of those hateful users, but it does seem you have the opposite bias of just liking Dvoeglazova (and juniors in general) disproportionately. Its ok to just say you believe Dvoeglazova will surpass and admit its a personal feeling and not based on data. We all have those opinions (really, not being condescending, we do all have them).

A bit of sad news:

Ekaterina Tsipukhina has missed the JRGP series due to a foot injury.

Angelina Palagina has retired due to prolonged health problems (including household injuries).

Thank you. I was wondering where did she disappear, she did well last season and she was very good at test skates. I presumed she is injured but did not see a word.

Maria Mazur doesn't have a fan thread so I put her yesterday's skate from Tyumen Meridian here:

I will have to get used to see Maiia as a coach but I wish her all the best:

I think Mazur has a lot of potential, so I hope one day she's able to gain some consistency. She's senior eligible next season, so I hope she opts to move up. Juniors will be way too crowded with all the already existing girls + Solntseva, Streltsova, Sarnovskaya, and Zaikina all moving up from novice. And as far as I'm aware, the only notable skaters moving up to seniors next season will be Dvoeglazova, Lyashenko, Lyubov, and Tsipukhina

The problem is I don't think she would progress in AoP, after two years she basically has the same problems. She definitely has a lot of potential but I think a change of team should be considered (I know there might be problems when one leaves Plushenko...).

She will skate a free in about 20 minutes BTW at Tyumen Meridian, we will see.

To finish the idea, she delivered solid looking free skate incl. 4S, but probably there were URs, because her TES was only 66 and 127 for the full segment (finished 2nd behind Labutina). If video appears I will put it here.

So, here is the free skate of Maria Mazur:

4S was UR, plus some other calls (protocol). But I liked it overall.

For comparison, victorious skate by Elizaveta Labutina:

She's been skating at aop for years and has been a family friend of Plushy's family for even longer, so I doubt she'll leave. Her main problem, consistency aside, seems to be with her edges. Not sure which coach would be able to help her with that

Good question.

And thanks for the info, I did not know there are such ties.
