Just ran some numbers on the average scores from our top girl's best season over the last few years to prove a point in an interaction. Maybe some people would find the results interesting:
Valieva: 260 (This is Olympic season, including her DQ scores and her team event score but also including her meltdown score)
Her 2nd best not including that is 245 (2020/21)
Shcherbakova: 245 (2020/21)
Petrosian: 244 (2022/23)
Kosornaia: 243 (2019/20)
Akateva: 238 (2022/23)
Trusova: 237 (2021/22)
Muravieva: 235 (2022/23)
Bazyluk: 232 (2023/24)
Medvedeva: 231 (2017/18)
Usacheva: 230 (2020/21)
Zagitova: 224 (2017/18)
Zhilina: 224 (2022/23)
Dvoeglazova: 224 (2023/24)
Sinitsyna: 218 (2023/24)
In case someone says Petrosian didn't skate enough in that season to get a fair average, over the last two seasons combined she has 243 (2022-24).
Shcherbakova's best two seasons combined is 241 (2020-22)
Valieva's is 253 (2020-22)
Not including her DQ season, Valieva's best two season average is at 244 (2021-23).
So for fun the top 3 in history for a 2 season average are:
Kamila: 253 (2020-22) / 244 (2021-23)
Petrosian: 243 (2022-24)
Shcherbakova: 241 (2020-22)
The rest were not even close for it to be worth the time calculating (including Kostornaia). Their 2nd best season is way worse than their best.
So these 3 are ultimately the top 3 skaters Russia has seen, in my opinion.
