2024 BC/YT Section Super Series Autumn Leaves | Oct 4-6

I am so glad that Paint It Black is my favourite warhorse, I've lost count of how many skaters have used this cover on the JGP so far 😅

Yes. 155.85 should be enough.
I think this was either a new program or a new outfit or both.

Also, isn’t Christopher Mannis switching to Pairs? I always thought he’d be a great Pairs partner

He's entered for Novice Pairs at BC Sectionals, I think his partner is Ginevra Bellentani. The entry lists aren't helpful for figuring out partnerships.

It could be a good switch for him, I'm interested in seeing how they do.

I like James Brown for Shohei, it suits his style and he looked like he was into performing it.

That looks to have gone better for Wesley than Nebelhorn. Two quads and he got three combos in. It's nice that he was able to compete the free again before Skate America and have a better go with it.

I guess they don't announce the scores for the exhibition skates, so he had about 70 TES on the tracker at the end.

Amy 😭 125 …. And change
She will have to work on her jumps, if she wants to make it to Nationals. The judges can’t give her the PCS, if the jumps aren’t there.

140.03 was the threshold last season, just to make our top 18 Senior Ladies and I think it will be similar this season

So, does anybody here know if there is anybody of interest that has come through the ranks of this club, which (according to the header on the website), has been "teaching Penticton to skate since 1953"?

I don't know any skaters from the Okanagan Valley who has been a big name in the sport... but it could be just that they didn't stay there and moved to bigger clubs later.
I live in Penticton, and I don't know of anyone. The best known skaters from the Okananagan are from Kelowna, which is the largest city in the Okanagan and is about an hour's drive up the road from here.

Kelowna has had skaters in the JGP and at Canadian Nationals (notably Emma Bulawka, whom I laughingly referred to as "my nieghbor" when she was competing). The highest-ranked skater I know of from Kelowna is Haley Sales, who did ice dance as part of Haley SALES / Nikolas WAMSTEEKER . They went to 4 Continents twice, both times in Olympic years. They also went to Skate Canada several times and to one other Grand Prix (one non-host spot). I'm not sure of their exact status; they retired, then reportedly unretired. They used to train in Burnaby but I believe they moved to IAM London.

Kelowna itself has hosted Skate Canada twice, in 2014 and 2019.
