I hope this link helps somebody:

Spectator info

A couple of picks: Daily tickets allow to that day's practice and gifts are allowed to throw for skaters. (I am always a little bit confused to write gift as in Swedish it means poison).

I am considering going, and will need to make a decision quick. Can anyone tell me how accessible the Hartwall Arena is by public transport? Making it on foot for more than a few hundred meters in mid-November is not an option for me as I'm super sensitive to cold.
I have only been to Espoo so far, so I'm not familiar with this part of the city.

It is not at Hartwall Arena, it is at Helsingin Jäähalli. Hartwall Arena is out of use at the moment. It is about 2 km from both Helsinki Railways Station and Pasila. I have walked there from both. I think you get quite near by bus or tram.

The venue is not Hartwall Arena but the Helsinki Ice Hall. The address is Nordenskiöldinkatu 11-13. It is less than three kilometers away from the center of Helsinki, I mean the Central railway station of Helsinki. You can get there easily by several buses: at least 40, 200, 300, 321, 345. They leave from the square called Elielinaukio that is next to the Central railway station and it takes about 15-20 minutes to get there.

Hartwall Arena has been closed for more than two years because of the war that put the Russian owners into the EU sanctions list. They have not agreed to sell the hall voluntarily. Here in Finland, there has been a lot of discussion about this issue and people really want to get the hall into use again. I hope you end up coming to Helsinki!

Thanks, @TT_Fin and @Lyyli ! I whipped out my old 2018 paper map, and saw the rink is closer to downtown than the Hartwall Arena. It also seems there are connections from there to Kampi, and potentially Ruoholahti, where I was staying for Finlandia Challengers and was very satisfied, though of course downtown is more practical time-wise... I'll have to check that out online to get a better idea.

Early bird prices are so much cheaper what we have used to pay before at Finland's GP to I may change my mind. The prices are in craft until 14th October. I have an option if I could stay at my brothers house, it is not so far from Helsinki. I hate going there at night but when it is not so late, it is not so bad. Does upper tribunes (yläkatsomo in Finnish) mean balcony?

Thank you for the link! I want to buy my tickets tonight, so hopefully all goes well with it, and hopefully some seats are still available in the lower tribunes.
I wasn't able to find out who exactly the 'pensioner' discount applies to, can anyone help me out? Usually, it means a person over 65 in my country, but I can't be sure if it's the same for Finlandia.

Question about the Helsinki public transport: do the R-kioski still sell public transport tickets and tourist passes? I found it more convenient to buy them at the R-kioski at the airport than at the ticket machines downstairs, but that was 5 years ago.

Yes it is still possible. R-kioski will charge 1 euro as a service fee for each ticket or tourist pass.

ISU works hard to kill the sport, doesn't it? Less to watch - less audience - less money - less interest - less skaters. Edit: It would be interesting to know how skaters feel about it. If they think it takes too much energy and time, then I understand the decision.
The skaters get paid extra to do it in my understanding, so I'd think they'd like it

No gala means cheaper ticket prices.
No gala means skaters don't need to learn and practice a number just in case they get picked.

I don't care about the no gala ordeal to be honest for GP events. At worlds, at least, by then, skaters have had the time to compete plenty, and then can play with an extra program... but at the beginning of the season ? I am all for keeping it simple and cheaper for fans, for skaters and for the organizers.

The cachet given to a skater for a gala is probably WAY less money than the cost of preparing the program.
